For example, at 8:00 AM (when around 30 PCs get started simoultaneously, I get this in smbd.log: ### [2014/09/16 08:01:21.320944, 0] ../source3/smbd/oplock.c:335(oplock_timeout_handler) Oplock break

smbd/oplock.c:oplock_timeout_handler(375) after samba upgrade
I recently upgraded from samba 3.0.10-1.fc3 to 3.0.21b-2 running on FC5. Today was the first day of a typing class which uses the network version of Mavis Beacon Typing which depends on file sharing. The users are hanging and then getting an error message during logging into the product. In /var/log/message, I can see the following message for each user similar to: [2006/04/24

corrupt files... oplocks?
Suddenly in the past week we have been having users who share excel files via our Samba complain that the file has become corrupt, and also some database files (Orcad .tdb database files). Fortunately there has in each instance been a good copy in the .recycler... so far. I came across some docs and threads in the net about oplocks. I did find an error in the samba log: [2008/04/14 10:19:05,

Where do I get detailed information about oplock-types and possible errors?

Could it possibly cause oplock-trouble and even disconnections, if a user is constantly logged in on one AD-workstations and also frequently accesses network files from a WinXP+SP2 workstation (that is not part of the AD-Domain) via

Seeking help with Samba shares & OPLOCKS & Quickbooks databases
I thought I had things figured out, but guess not. I have multi-user Quickbooks databases that functioned fine on a Novell server but are behaving badly on a Samba share. I have created a separate share for the Quickbook databases, users are running Win XP Pro, latest patches, and the Quickbooks application installed on the desktop. It is a multiuser version. Server is RedHat ES 3, Samba
