Help me apply mapply
Hello all I would like to ask your help use mapply.
I have a function called findCell that takes two arguments(x,sr)
where x is a vector of size two (e.g x<-c(2,3) and sr is a matrix.
I would like to call many times the findCell function (thus I need mapply) for different x inputs but always for the same sr.
as x is a vector of size two (two cells) I want to pass inside inside the following

Hmisc label function applied to data frame
Hello,
I'm attempting to create a data frame with correlations between every pair
of variables in a data frame, so that I can then sort by the value of the
correlation coefficient and see which pairs of variables are most strongly
correlated.
The sm2vec function in the corpcor library works very nicely as shown here:
library(Hmisc)
library(corpcor)

subsetting data frame using a vector of column names / values
Hello
I have a data frame d with columns "var1", "var2", "var3"
Then I have two vectors:
columns <- c("var2", "var3")
values <- c(0, 1)
Is there a compact way to subset the data frame
using these two vectors and get the result equivalent to:
select (d, var2==0 & var3==1) ?
Thank You

mapply() gives seg fault
Hello everybody.
I've been experimenting with mapply(). Does anyone else have problems with:
R> mapply(rep,times=1:4, MoreArgs=42)
(I get a seg fault).

Hi, people. Wandering in R archives, and seeing the message attached
below, I noticed that:
mapply(rep,times=1:4, MoreArgs=42)
still segfaults on R 2.2.0, and thought I should be a good citizen and
report it, even if I do not have an actual problem

converting a character vector to a function's input
Hi all, I have been trying to solve this problem and have had no luck so far.
I have numeric vectors VAR1, VAR2, and VAR3 which I am trying to cbind. I also have a character vector "VAR1,VAR2,VAR3". How do I manipulate this character vector such that I can input a transformed version of the character vector into cbind and have it recognize that I'm trying to refer to my numeric

crear variable en base a nombre de columnas que tienen un 1
Buenos días.
Hoy ando un poco (o bastante) espeso y no doy con la tecla de una cosa
que seguro que es muy simple..
Pongo un ejemplo.
var1 <- c(rep(0,3),rep(1,2))
var2 <- c(rep(1,2),0,0,1)
var3 <- c(rep(1,2),rep(0,3))
var4 <- c(rep(1,2),rep(0,3))

Bug in colnames of data.frames?
Hi,
I am using R 1.9.1 on on i686 PC with SuSE Linux 9.0.
I have a data.frame, e.g.:
> myData <- data.frame( var1 = c( 1:4 ), var2 = c (5:8 ) )
If I add a new column by
> myData$var3 <- myData[ , "var1" ] + myData[ , "var2" ]
everything is fine, but if I omit the commas:
> myData$var4 <- myData[ "var1" ] + myData[ "var2" ]

Strange predicted values ?
Hello
I carried out a logistic regression and found predicted values.
Then I want to see both predictors (var1,var2..) and predicted values
in same matrix. In other words, I need to know each combinations
and predicted values.
I used:
cbind(var1,var2,var3,var4,predict(glm.obj,type="resp"))
I got a somewhat strange result:
var1 var2 var3 var4 var5 var6 predicted vals

Wish: keep names in mapply() result
Hello!
I have noticed that mapply() drops names in R 2.3.1 as well as in
r-devel. Here is a simple example:
l <- list(a=1, b=2)
k <- list(1)
mapply(FUN="+", l, k)
[1] 2 3
mapply(FUN="+", l, k, SIMPLIFY=FALSE)
[[1]]
[1] 2
[[2]]

pregunta
Estimados
Estoy entrenando hacer funciones que respondan a comandos,
en esta caso en la salida gráfica se observa que dice : Exposure=var3 y
outcome=var 1
quisiéramos que se reflejan los nombres de la base de datos : var1=estado,
var2=cake, var3=chocolate
Espero haberme explicado adecuadamente

or1 <- cc(var1, var2, ...)

Select rows based on multiple comparisons
Dear all,
I have a data set in which the same unit appears 2 or 3 or 4 times. I need
to aggregate this data to maintain only one unit by row. But I need to do
that based on a comparison between the values of such units. I can't find a
function to help me on that. I appreciate any help. Below I provide an
example of what I want:
This is my data:
