Multiple userdb on specific ports
Hello everyone, Is it possible to, from one instance, bind a single userdb to a specific listen port in Dovecot? For example, requiring passwd or PAM authentication on IMAP port 143, but using an SQL passdb only on port 8143? Predicted values when using offset in ZIP GLM
Hi all! I have built a model to predict interactions with turtles and the model includes an offset for effort: ZIP<-zeroinfl(Sturgeon~fMesh+fSeason+offset(LogEffort),dist="poisson",link="logit",data=data) I wasn't clear about one aspect of the response to a similar question I recently posted...I apply the predicted model to a new dataset of standard conditions and

how to access encrypted EXT3 partition from Windows
Hi all, I know some may find this OT, so please ignore this if you think it's OT. I don't know any Linux-friendly Windows mailing lists / forums that will even bother with Linux related questions. I want to carry some data (client info, documents, photos, email, accounting stuff, etc) with me on a USB HDD, but want to encrypt it. I know one easy way to shared data between Windows &

Safe/sane tempfile creation?
I'm used to Debian-based distros which have a tempfile(1) utility for safely and sanely creating temporary files. There isn't a comperable utility for RHEL/CentOS systems. I've been exercising Google-fu looking for a good robust tempfile generation idiom, but haven't turned one up yet. Hence this appeal to the lazyweb. -- Dr. Ed Morbius, Chief Scientist / | Robot

What's a Reasonable Inbox Size?
Greetings, I have several users who have inboxes that are over 20 GB. Lately I have noticed Dovecot logs say it's taking over 30 seconds to sync their mailboxes. As email admins,? how do you handle inboxes that are so large? Do you use mailbox types that have better performance like dbox? We're using maildir. What's a reasonable inbox size?? Is 20+ GB reasonable and nothing to

New Mailbox Format Plugin Help
I would like to develop a new mailbox format for a very specialized application. Can anyone point me in the appropriate direction to get started writing a plugin? More detail for anyone interested: I need to store mail in a format that's quickly accessible and modifiable to an external process. This is for a very low-volume mail system (averaging less than 50 messages stored at any one

intercept point coordinates
Hi List, Can someone help me to calculate the coordinates of the red and green points? In this example I found their approximate location by trying, but as I have to analyse many similar curves, I?d rather calculate the exact location. data<- c(0.008248005, 0.061242387, 0.099095516, 0.189943027, 0.227796157, 0.258078661, 0.280790538, 0.303502416, 0.386779301, 0.454914934, 0.545762445,

OT: Perfect Pitch
I won't bother quoting all of Moz's statements of how sound is interpreted by those blessed/cursed with tape recorders in their heads :) I will add that his whole explanation of perfect pitch perception easily offers an explanation as to why some individuals will only archive flac/pac/ape (Moz - do you?) and those of us that do not perceive that level of detail and are fine using ogg

mail-trends+Dovecot
Hi, Out of curiosity, has anyone managed to use mail-trends[0] to analyse their e-mails. I thought about trying it out, but got stuck midstream. The mail-trends scripts work very well with gmail, but because they say it is supposed to work with _any_ IMAP server, I thought I could get it running with Dovecot too. I know this is NOT a mail-trends support group though, but I believe there is

plugin development guide for non-FS backing store
Hi, folks. I was wondering if anyone has some sort of guide or reference on plugin development. We are trying to develop a non-filesystem backing store. So basically we do not store mailboxes for users in local filesystem. We do RPC call to fetch from fileservers. Thank you in advance. Chang
