Samba DC: How to verify proper functioning
Hello Please advise some ways to verify that my newly created samba DC (holding no FSMO roles) is functioning properly from standpoint of Windows Server DC and Windows clients. So far I tried to run "dcdiag" command. Can you please look at following command output and tell me is everything OK there? Is there other ways to check if DC works well?

The RPC server is unavailable on Samba 4 clients
Hi, I used to upgrade/migrated samba 3.3.10 to samba 3.4.17 with LDAP backend in place, while upgrading the CentOS from 5.5 to 5.9. In place to retain the trust relationship. The users can able to login without re-authentication from existing machines. Tested 3 XPs, and 3 Win7 but it takes 5-8 mins to login compared to 1 win7 that was re-connected (disconnected from domain, restart, then rejoin

DCdiag tests
Hey all, has anyone done dcdiag against his DC yet? It's made from a windows client on command line: dcdiag /s:<servername> What are your results? With me some of the tests were not successful, e.g. ForestDNSDomain. My dcdiag is German so its output would not be so helpful for the mailing list. So somebody else can do a check to compare? Thanks in advance Tim

I did a fresh install on another computer of Windows 7. Joined my freshly made domain. Installed the remote administration tools. samba-tool domain demote - current DC is still the owner of 2 role(s)
Hey guys, I had recently setup a new DC (called dc0) (in accordance with the wiki) and now I would like to demote the old DC (called pdc0 :)). I followed the wiki again, but I ran into the following issue. When trying to demote the old DC, I get this error message: pdc0 # samba-tool domain demote ERROR: Current DC is still the owner of 2 role(s), use the role command to transfer roles to another
