turn regression coefficients into matrix or...
I don't have much experience with r. What I am trying to do is to turn
regression coefficients (after I run a lm or glm model) into some matrix
such that I can do some post-estimation calculation, for example predicted
probabilities in glm model, etc.. Or, is there any function in r that I can
use to do something along that line? thanks.

ACLS, inherit owner=yes
Hello,
I am currently migrating data from NT4 to Samba, and ownership is not
preserved.
Could someone please confirm the option "inherit owner" does not work on
RHEL4 (samba-3.0.10-1.4E.11)?
How can I get this working?

whoops, corrupted my filesystem
Hi all-
I corrupted my filesystem by not doing a RTFM first... I got an automated
email that the process monitoring the SMART data from my hard drive detected
a bad sector. Not thinking (or RTFMing), I did a fsck on my partition-
which is the main partition. Now it appears that I've ruined the
superblock.

Firefox 2.0
Good day,
I know this is simple but I cant seem to figure this out. I have firefox
2.0 installed and its running fine. The problem is how to get the system
defaults to work with it. For instance, if I wanted to install the adobe
rpm from their website, how do I get firefox2.0 to prompt me for the default
application to install it. Or if I downloaded a .tar.gz and wanted to
extract it,

Are there any xorg-x11-devel or xorg-server-devel rpm for centos 5?
Thanks,

kbs-CentOS-Misc-Testing: thunderbird-1.5-2.el4.lsn looks OK under *light* use
Installed today, light use in and out. All looks normal ATM. CentOS 4.3
current (but 1 kernel version to install as of today). AMD Athlon 2200XP
using i686 versions.
I'm not a heavy user of it.

Waiting to see if I like it better than Evolution or not. Unfortunately,
the more it looks like MS Windows product, the less attractive I find
it.
I'll probably end up blowing all this

kbs-CentOS-Testing gnucash: status for CentOS 5?
I decided I would like to try GnuCash on my 5.x desktop system. I did an
available list and got this
gnucash.i386 2.2.4-1.el5.kb kbs-CentOS-Testi
gnucash-docs.noarch 2.2.0-2.el5.kb kbs-CentOS-Testi
Did a
yum --enablerepo=kbs-CentOS-Testing install gnucash\*
That produced
Package gnucash-docs-2.2.0-2.el5.kb.noarch.rpm is not signed
I figured I had forgot to

If Trying to Recover a Damaged Partition: kbs-CentOS-Extras Has a Tool
Recently (and for ages, I'm sure) folks have suffered partition
destruction and had to try and recover. In the recent thread, the victim
eventually had to resort to Google and fond some package that I can not
remember now.
Well, I was perusing my YumInfo.lst.05, for general info, and I
discovered this (potential) little gem. Thought I would pass it on and
make it "more googleable"

Preventing deletion of folders under a SAMBA share
I am trying to set up a basic Samba server and configure it so that
folders under a share cannot be deleted accidentally by a user. The
ideal scenario would be to have the top-level folders under the share
non-deleteable, but folders and files are able to be created under it.
I cannot find any easy way of doing this directly, but thought that the
use of the 'veto' option would work

Preventing deletion of folders under a SAMBA share: SOLVED
Thanks for this. Yes this does work nicely, however the main reason
things weren't going to plan was quite simple. I had set force user =
root, in an attempt to ensure that all new folders were owned by root -
silly I know, but somehow overlooked, and was forcing each user to be
connected as root - doh!
All I need to accomplish now, is to prevent deletion of any folder
created by a user -

Adding Domain User Accounts to Windows 7 Clients (Samba 3.4.8 PDC)
Hi,
I've searched the logs and google trying to find a fix for my problem
and have so far not succeeded.
I've got a Samba PDC (Debian Lenny), running Samba 3.4.8 from Debian
Backports. It is using an OpenLdap backend. We have encountered little
to no problems over the last several years. And of course, we have to
upgrade to Windows 7 (64-bit), from XP-64. So, here we are.

Problem with busydetect and cell phones
I have a very strange problem I'm hoping someone has encountered already.
I've scoured the internet for an answer to this one. My phone company
provides no disconnect supervision. Hence I'm forced to use the busydetect
feature. I have a TDM400 with two FXO ports. If I call from an internal
extension to a landline and then hangup the landline Asterisk detects the
busy signal

Logging in via Linux machine to Windows Domain
Hi List -
I have a friend that runs a Windows domain with Active Directory and is
setting up some new laptops with Redhat. He wants to automate installs,
etc. on these laptops as he would on a Windows machine.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this - and also if anyone
knows of a good tutorial for joining a Linux machine to a Windows domain.
I've heard that it is possible.
