Yes, configure it so it write the correct info in it. Something like this : https://pchelp.ricmedia.com/set-custom-dns-servers-linux-network-manager-resolv-conf/ > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens > Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming via samba > Verzonden: woensdag 19 februari 2020 14:24 > Aan: sambalist; Rowland

Why are ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts empty with no entries?
Hi Rowland, I tried your suggested /etc/named.conf. ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts are still empty in Active Directory Users and Computers. Is it more of an integrated LDAP issue than a DNS issue?? I also noticed that Network Manager keeps overwriting my /etc/resolv.conf. Is there a way to solve this secondary issue? Thank you. ________________________________ From:

Hi Rowland, I can confirm that dnsmasq is not running because I have already disabled libvirtd. ________________________________ From: samba <samba-bounces at lists.samba.org> on behalf of Rowland penny via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> Sent: Tuesday, February 18, 2020 11:03 PM To: samba at lists.samba.org <samba at lists.samba.org> Subject: Re: [Samba] Why are

Why are ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts empty with no entries?
Good evening from Singapore, I have just setup Samba 4.11.6 and CentOS 8.1 as Active Directory Domain Controller. Thread: Teo En Ming's Manual for Setting Up Samba 4.11.6 and CentOS 8.1 (1911) Linux Server QEMU/KVM Virtual Machine as an Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) Link: https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2020-February/228348.html Question is, why are my

No, the Centos is AD-DC Ubuntu as member if i got it right. But Centos, not my cookie.. :-( And im betting -dns is not set in smb.conf server services = -dns .. Which disables the internal DNS and enable bind_DLZ. So.. From here for the Centos pieps.. GPO fail and sysvol perm errors
GPO's fail to apply on Windows clients and sysvol permission errors are logged. DC is Samba 4.13.0 created via a classic upgrade. Logged sysvol errors (uid 5025 is the system I ran gpupdate on, don't know what uid 3000011 refers to): =================================== Oct 25 12:17:09 srvr01 smbd[3762]: [2020/10/25 12:17:09.695062, 0]

Rights issue on GPO
A good howto per exampl.e http://www.itingredients.com/how-to-disable-usb-ports-using-group-policy/ Only i did not do this as computer policy but as user policy. In short, 1) create 2 groups: USB-Allowed USB-Denied 2) create 2 policies objects, USB-Allowed USB-Denied And set in the allow polices ( as shown in the link but under the user polcies ) 3) add correct group to the same

Transfer GPO's between servers on different domains?
As per title, is it possible to export GPO's from one AD DC and import them into another, one on a different domain? Searching online, all posts refer to transferring GPO's between servers on the same domain, or restoring GPO's from backups when rebuilding a server. It is tedious to configure by hand 30-40 GPO's - it would save a lot of time if there was a way to just copy

'RPC Server is Unavailable' when updating GPO
Hi, Researched the forums before posting but was not able to find solution to my issue. Could be a unique problem. GPO's are not being applied to users and computers because 'RPC is unavailable'. The GPO's were being applied before, but not sure what happened. Started noticing this once I binded a new instance of Windows 10 to the SambaDC and the machine nor user were picking up
