samba-tool dns serverinfo
Good Afternoon, I successfully joined an Ubuntu 14.04 server with Samba 4.1.9 to my existing domain. I want this server to become my Master, but before I attempt to seize roles, I have been double and triple checking all of the configuration files and DNS entries. I noticed that this server's dns serverinfo differs from the other three servers. For it's aipServerAddrs and aipListenAddrs,

samba4 AD DNS zone corrupted
Hello everyone, somehow I broke my DNS zone managed by samba4. Unfortunately, I'm out of ideas and you are my last hope! When I want to open it in Windows DNS administration MSC, I get the following error when selecting the zone: "Zone Not Loaded by DNS Server". When running regular DNS queries on that zone, everything works fine. # host -t A mydomain.local mydomain.local has

Fresh ad installation - Win2022 can't join
Good morning, and a Happy New Year ? I'd like to setup a test-enviroment, based on Debian Bookworm and mjt's 4.19.3 packages. samba is running as a Hyper-V vm, its ip is 192.168.178.37, its name is dc.augusta.domain.tld My idea is to use this dc for two networks (192.168.178.0/24 and 192.168.180.0/24) and for testing one Windows 2022 server (192.168.178.34/24). I used these two

Maybe I will demote DC2 and join it again. > Check if you actually have dns

Additional Zones with Samba4 DNS
Hi, we plan to migrate to Samba4 from Samba3 and also from Bind9 to Samba4 DNS. One question is open, everything else works really great. We need multiple domains for virtual hosts in our development enviroment. Example: samba.local as samba domain, additional anotherdomain.local for hosting. How can we add those zones in Samba via command line tools. The reverse zone for our IP

Access and group issues on domain member server (PDC is Samba as well)
Hi List, I created a domain member server in my samba domain. I start to realize that there are some issues when colleagues could not access some folders in the their shares. After searching for a solution I found that on that member server I have no "samba" groups available. First of all my setup: Domain controller: CentOS 6.2 x86_64, latest updates installed Samba 3.5.10 (from
