FreeBSD 9.1 + Samba 3.6.12 : Winbind sid lookup issue
Hey Samba list.
We recently had to switch from 3.5.x to 3.6, due to the ports tree dropping
3.5
Since then, I've have had issues with the looking up users consistently. It
may work for 30 minutes, and then stop.
I finally started to run winbindd -i -d and here are some of my findings:

Kerberos5 ticket renewal & 'net ads join' w/o authentication
Hello,
I have two issues with Kerberos administration using Samba and this
results from my lack of familiarity with it. I am hoping someone can
point me in the right direction.
The first issue is with automatically renewing the Kerberos tickets. The
second issue deals with my having to authenticate each time I attempt to
join an AD domain. The Samba documentation indicates that I should *not*

Autoexpunge not working for Junk?
Hi all,
I set up dovecot a couple of months ago and am having trouble getting autoexpunge=30d to work on my Trash and Junk mailboxes. Not sure why not because I'm not getting error messages in my log.
Running "doveadm search -u <user> mailbox Junk savedbefore 30d" shows me many messages (I've got messages back to mid-May, and a couple of other users have them back to

Autoexpunge not working for Junk?
Hi all,
Might anyone have any idea about this issue? I can run a cron job if needed but it seems like autoexpunge SHOULD be doing this automatically...
Thanks!

I found the
file /usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/samba/provision/sambadns.py
I was looking through it and seemed to come across the area where I am
having problems.
In the create_dns_dir function
I wanted to see what paths.dns had and what dns_dir where getting set to.
so I did a simple print and found
paths.dir is set
to /var/lib/samba/private/dns/fedora.methanemaker.mooo.com.zone

Has anybody come across some package script which can be used to listen to
request from DynDNS.org clients which can be found commonly in the devices?
