Resizeable
Has anyone done any work on a "Resizeable" class they''d be willing to share? I''m looking to do some stuff that''ll need resizable divs, but I didn''t want to re-invent the wheel if I can avoid it. -Jerod _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

Rich Text Editor
I know I saw something a while back about a simple Rich Text Editor; did that go anywhere? I''d love to see something as simple as the one google uses in gmail. If not, I''ll get started on it :-D. -Jerod _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

insert HTML <select> value into a textarea - Works in IE6, not in FireFox or Opera
I have a simple form at http://mstramba.com/fb5.html It''s just a <select> and a textarea. The idea is to be able to either type into a text area directly or choose from a list of saved words in the select box. When a new choice is made from the select, it automatically gets inserted into the text area. This code DOES work in I.E6 (on my machine (XP pro), but doesn''t

disable ''tab'' key wish for incremental autocomplete of textareas
I''m absolutely in love with the incremental autocomplete feature in the new scriptaculous. My one wish would be for some way of disabling the TAB key to prevent users from being able to tab out of an autocompleting textarea. (If they''re using TAB to select the autocomplete choice they end up tabbing straight out of the input field if autocomplete doesn''t find any

Released: window dialog script
Hello, First, please let me thank you to Ryan Gahl and Jerod Venema for their patient help - really appreciated their input - I couldn''t have done this script without their support. Today I released a dialog script based on scriptaculous and prototype. A demo can be seen here: http://net4visions.com/dev/dialog/dialog.htm . Please see the readme and changelog file for details. in place editor with scriptaculous
I have an issue with line break handling. When I display contents of a textarea, I use nl2br to show linebreaks that the user has made. The problem comes the second time they make an edit, since the <br> code still appears in the inPlaceEdit box... which will no doubt confuse my users... Any way around this? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message

assert_select trying to verify the presence of a textarea
Hello, One of my functional tests looks like this: def test_presence_of_free_text profile = Profile.find :first post :edit, {:id => profile.id} assert_select "textarea", :name => "record[free_text_ec]" end The test results in a failure, because the element cannot be found. I''m pretty sure the element should be there, and I''ve tried

IE flakiness?
I set up a simple BlindUp and BlindDown div that works seamlessy in Firefox but doesn''t work as smoothly in IE. When blinding down, the whole div flashes and then Blinds down. The same thing when blinding up. Is this something that is fixable? _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

is there something like addslashes and stripslashes in prototype
if i would save the content of a textarea into mysql i eventually have to mask things like ,"/\ and so on. in php there are the add- and stripslashes functions you could use. is there somthing compareable like this in the string object of prototype? if not, it would very nice to have, i think. function addslashes(str) { str=str.replace(/\''/g,''\\\'''');

PeriodicalExecuter stops when form is submitted in Safari 3
Hi I''m having a problem using PeriodicalExecuter with a form. I have a monitoring pane that updates status of form processing, and it stops working when I submit a form. It works with Safari 2, IE, Firefox, but not with Safari 3. I''ve made a test script: http://www.charmm-gui.org/test.html It updates a textarea, but it stops updating when the form is submitted in Safari 3. Any

rookie with text editing
Greetings, This might be a pretty basic question not even totally rails specific, but how do I control text editing using ruby on rails? For instance, I am using the ruby forum http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/new as I type this and am typing into a textarea tag. I have this in my rails app and I want to know how to save the formatting - such as when I hit returns to go to a new line when I

IE/CSS issue using Sortables....but only on the first drag
OK, I''m in need of help :) I''ve got a bug in IE (whoa!) that I can''t figure out. I think its CSS-related, but I sure can''t figure out what the problem is. Go here: http://jerod.ontasksoftware.com/demo/index.php and drag one of the items in the center listbox. In FF, it works beautifully. In IE6, it shoots off to the left...but ONLY once. After

Ajax.InPlaceEditor: controls.js update
I''m not sure if this is a bug or not, but I had to patch controls.js file to accommodate the idea that I had planned. I had to combine Ajax.InplaceEditor and AutoCompleter for a "tagging" feature at my office. With the autocompleter, I need to target an INPUT FIELD by ID. However the generated INPUT field from the Ajax.InPlaceEditor did not include this attribute in

Choppiness in FF v1.5
Hey all, I''ve got an interesting one for anyone who''s up for a challenge. Essentially, I have a very choppy effect, that almost looks like timeouts are overloaded or interfering or something, that only occurs when sortables are on the same page as "standard" effects. Here''s what I''m doing: I have a menu that slides in and out on the right side of

Problem with ajax and textareas on firefox but works on IE
Hi folks, I''ve been trying to figure this one out for a few hours now and can''t seem to understand what I might be doing wrong here. Basically, I have a textarea which has a little icon next to it which will fire off a reset of the original comment if pressed. It works under IE so that when the user types some garbase in to the textarea, and clicks the icon, the contents
