Same-server mail transfer
Hello, What would be the best way to perform a same-server Maildir transfer, while retaining the IMAP structure already in place, between users with the same GID but different UIDs? I've tried doveadm import but I presume it is encountering a permissions error due to the different UIDs. Worst case scenario, I could move everything over manually and then update the UIDs. I feel like

Escape comma in the LDAP passdb subquery configuration
Hi I have to configure the LDAP passdb to execute a subquery defining dinamically the new DN to use. For example: pass_attrs = @mail=mail=%{login_user},dc=%{login_domain},dc=example,dc=com,\ =proxy=y,\ =host=%{ldap:mailHost at mail} In the previous example, the problem is the use of "," for DN representation, which is also the separator for the attribute

Master Login using MySQL problem - %{login_domain}
Hi Timo, Been trying to track this problem down further. The problem seems to be related to verifying the master user failing. My passdb looks like this: passdb { driver = sql args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-domain-owner-sql.conf master = yes pass = yes } dovecot-domain-owner-sql.conf contains: user_query = SELECT user_name, domain_name FROM users WHERE user_name = '%n' AND

Tricky Master User Query - need MySQL help
OK - I want to do something very tricky with master users and if I get it to work I'm adding it to the wiki for everyone to use. So far I have a MySQL database that servers multiple domains. I can set a flag making someone a domain owner that allows that person to become master of that domain. Here's the query for that. password_query = SELECT user_name, domain_name, password FROM

Master User Features I'd like to see
Here's what I'd like. Limited master users, where someone can be a master users for some domains but not others. I think I could do what I want with the right kinds of variable passing that doesn't yet exist. Let me see if I can explain clearly. From the example in the wiki: auth_master_user_separator = * passdb { driver = sql args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql-master.conf.ext

Valid users not working
Hi all. Sorry for my bad english, i am from russia. I have some servers with samba. One PDC+ldap One BDC+ldap And some count of members. It's working fine, but some days ago i try to use "valid users" directive, wich i already successfully used on PDC BDC. But on domain members this directive fails. I have checked log and see this error. Sid @INFINET\rnd does not start with

[LLVMdev] infinitely recursive named struct types
Hi, Looks like it is possible to create an infinitely recursive struct type, llvm-as accepts this: %s = type { i32, i8, %s } define %s @foo(%s* %a) { %y = load %s* %a ret %s %y } %s2 = type { i32, %s3} %s3 = type { i8, %s2} declare %s3 @foo2(); Similarly it is doable via the API: create a named struct, create elements where one refers directly to the newly created struct (instead of

Locking out users from certain records/urls
I am using the standard login controller that ships with RoR to authenticate users in my application. In my app, Users belong to Clients, Clients have Projects that users are assigned to (stored in a stakeholder table with user_id and project_id columns) , then each project has a bunch of folders and assets (file uploads). So currently I have urls that look like /project/show/12 etc. I want

which e-mail client can work with recent dovecot?
Hi, I'm trying to use dovecot-1.0.rc7. Before I've used dovecot-1.0 from nightly cvs build of August 08, 2006. It worked perfectly, on Linux 64-bit, you can see spec and patches at http://www.sisyphus.ru/srpm/dovecot/ When I tried to upgrade to rc7 and to recent nightly cvs builds with the same configuration and patches (provided necessary adaptations), it builds O.K, but can not move

Specifying passwd-file with virtual domains?
I'm trying to use virtual domains and I'm suffering a disconnect. I have two domains - foo.com and bar.com. On the filesystem, they are located at /var/mail/foo.com/ and /var/mail/bar.com/. Users are located at /var/mail/foo.com/john/, /var/mail/bar.com/jane/, etc. There are two password files with <user>:<scheme><password> entries. The scheme is {PLAIN}. They are

SMTP Auth Issue for non /etc/passwd accounts
Folks - With Dovecot 1.0.7, we're seemingly unable to authenticate users for out-going SMTP access who are not residing directly within the main system passwd/shadow files. (I.e. the users seeded within our non-system "dovecot" userdbs & passwd files have no "smtp-auth" joy! (Ye olde "Relaying denied. Proper authentication required") I've mucked around

Squid vs. iptables redirection: exception for certain domains ?
Hi, Another idea - but this gets complicated and with that, prone to faults - use a simple shell script to resolve the desired domains and keep their IPs in an ipset, then use the ipset in your firewall rules, this way you can keep your iptables rules static, your squid config static and simply add or remove IPs from the ipset. -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology!
