Changing the height of LI elements to achieve such an effect?
Hi Everybody, I was wondering if there is such a work done with Scriptaculous/Prototype before and if not how to achieve it? Example : http://www.anatolip.com/ It is done with codes borrowed from moofx and his own codes. Thanks in advance Danial _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

Element.getDimensions
Hi all, should it be considered a bug that Element.getDimensions returns the offsetWidth and offsetHeight properties from elemens having not display none, but clientWidth and clientHeight from elements with display none? Or is it a feature? Regards Lorenz

Protoype problem
Hey everybody, I encountered an interesting problem today. Here is what I have: I used the prototype function "Position.clone(src, target)" which actually copies the top, left, offsetWidth and offsetHeight from the src to the target. interestingly, my src-object had a css-styled border of 1px, and a total offsetWidth of 320px. my target-object had the same properties, but once I

RE: Element.scrollTo duration isn''t working
I thought the duration parameter was only used with Effect functions, but I could be wrong. Prototype: Position.clone()
Does the duplicate clone method of Position serve a subtle purpose that I don''t understand? I feel kind of foolish even asking, but ... I just don''t get it. I''ve been looking at this for a couple days now and as far as I can tell, the first definition is useless as it gets overlaid by the second one. I don''t see any closure trickery going on here, either.

scriptaculous accordion feature - Jump?
Trying the accordion feature as offered at: http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/accordion+feature The objective is to remove the "jump" reported in the Rico accordion feature. My demo of the scriptaculous feature, however has a noticeable jump when tested if FireFox. and IE Win. See: http://www.jimdavis.org/accord3.html Have I implemented this incorrectly? Jim

Drag & Scroll
When using drag and drop, the browser window will not scroll if you move the mouse off the page. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible to create certain types of web applications. I know this has been mentioned before and is on the Wish List, but it''s very frustrating. If you look at this other Javascript library called "Drag''nDrop & DHTML Library"

Canceling a specific effect
Is there a way to cancel a specific effect? For instance; Effects are added to the queue. Before actually processing the effect, I''d like to check a condition & cancel the effect if necessary. Here''s the code excerpt: var menu = { toggleText: function(element, toggle) { var vis = $(element+''Text'').visible(); if (toggle && !vis)

how can I get offsetHeight in IE?
Ok, This is driving me nuts. I am trying to determine the height of an element in IE, but offsetHeight returns undefined. I looped through all of the attributes that contain the word ''height'', both in the element and in the element.style, but they are all undefined. Is there a better way to determine the rendered height of an element? Is there something I need to do to the

BlindDown on a div with overflow: auto...
I have a div with overflow: auto... BlindUp works fine. But BlindDown simply waits the duration and shows the div at full size (no blinding down effect). If I remove overflow: auto it works fine. Why would this work for BlindUp but not BlindDown? Sincerely, Ryan Gahl Design Engineer Camtronics Medical Systems (an Emageon Company) Ryan.gahl-nlycWCgr5/vuufBYgWm87A@public.gmane.org

IE flakiness?
I set up a simple BlindUp and BlindDown div that works seamlessy in Firefox but doesn''t work as smoothly in IE. When blinding down, the whole div flashes and then Blinds down. The same thing when blinding up. Is this something that is fixable? _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

possible Slide and Blind IE bug
Hi, I''m new to this list, new to script.aculo.us but pretty comfortable with javascript. I''m trying to get a combination of Effect.SlideUp and Down and Effect.BlindUp and Down to well... it''s hard to describe, maybe have a visit here (try in firefox first): http://bruno.biosci.arizona.edu/occa/test.html Click on "next month" a couple times, then click on

Effect Help
I posted the following earlier: "I need a way to do a blind up that makes the element APPEAR and a blind down that makes the element DISAPPEAR. In essence, the opposite of the current blindup/blinddown. Thoughts?" I think somebody responded in Dutch. Anyone else have any ideas? -- Yehuda Katz Web Developer (ph) 718.877.1325 (fax) 718.686.4288

blindup and blindup confusion
here''s a basic question. i have an h2 element and i want onmouseover to show a div using blinddown; i also expect onmouseout of the mentioned div (but not h2) to have effect blindup to get rid of the div. so i set up: <h2 id = "show" class="show">Show div</h2> <div id = "out" class = "out" style="display:none">some

Transition between effects
Peepz, I was looking into how script.aculo.us handles effect to write a tutorial and for a current project I wanted to make transition between PAIR effects possible. These PAIR effects are (Appear/Fade, SlideUp/SlideDown, BlindUp/BlindDown) the effect that toggle can handle. script.aculo.us calls queue.loop each 40 milliseconds, and that calls all the effect.loop for all effects in the

[PATCH] Effect.Accordion (not from the wiki)
Hello boys and girls In the ever-loving spirit of OSS, here''s another feature for s.a.u. In particular it''s called Effect.Accordion, and is a scriptaculified version of openrico''s Accordion. Work in progress, I''ll submit further modifications as the come in, but this is 90% of what needs to be done. I anticipate some bugs when I start using it more. Tested

Menu using Scriptaculous Effects = OnMouseOver bug
I am trying to achieve a Flash-like menu with OnMouseOver effects on 3 divs below. Unfortunately, the javascript resets when the mouse is rolled over the text and if you go mouse crazy on the divs, the script seems to remember where it cut off, and doesn''t roll down completely afterwards. Is it a good place to ask for help? I couldn''t find any Scriptaculous forum (only

[scriptaculous] Intermitently Disabling Clicks
I have button that slides down a menu using Effect.BlindDown, but the function that slides it down also makes it so that the opening link now slides the menu back in. If the user double clicks the link (thuse opening & closing immediatley) the slide animation breaks, then will not extend correctly (but no JS errors). How would you go about stopping this happening? Also, is it just me or is

Creating a scrolling effect with slider
I''m currently working on a method to implement a scroller for a div using a slider. I need to do this as an alternative to making a stylish flash scroller with content. The main advantage of this method is to allow the ability to style the sliding elements cross browser (and maybe as a future add on... the ability to have a scroll.to for a scrolling div). This is my first attempt at

unwanted scrolling
Hi all, I'm using Scriptaculous version 1.5.0 to make div's that are hidden at first (display: none position : absolute) visible using the cool effects of Scriptaculous. However when I use the effects (Appear, BlindDown, BlindUp) on div's that are positioned low in a long page IE and Firefox always scroll back to the top of the page, sometimes even scrolling away from the effected
