Set global var in onComplete and keep persistant? Is this possible?
Hello everyone, I posted yesterday about setting a global variable. I''ve done everything I can think of to keep the global variable set outside of the onComplete. Is this impossible? Surely I''m not the only one who needs this. Thanks for any help, Kevin -- Kevin Old kevinold-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org

Recover data from ext3 filesystem
Hello everyone, I came back from a long vacation the other day to a RH 7.3 system that would not boot. My situation is similar to Eddy's post "Seriously corrupt ext3 root filesystem - help?" from a couple of days ago. I can mount the drive in read-write and read-only modes. I can get into some of the directories and get certain files off of the disk. But, if I try to access a

Star Rating Component?
Hi, I''m looking for a star rating component for RoR, a bit like Votio (http://redalt.com/downloads/ - find the votio heading) or the star rating used on Amazon. I don''t really need the AJAX capabilities, just the ability to bind the results to a hidden drop down, or radio inputs. Multiple raters per page is also an issue. Any recomendations? -- Posted via

mixing nested and crossed factors using lme
Hi all, I have an experiment where 5 raters assessed the quality of 24 web sites. (each rater rated each site once). I want to come up with a measure of reliability of the ratings for the web sites ie to what extent does each rater give the same (or similar) rating to each web site. My idea was to fit a random effects model using lme and from that, calculate the intraclass correlation as a

Bradley Terry model and glmmPQL
Dear R-ers, I am having trouble understanding why I am getting an error using glmmPQL (library MASS). I am getting the following error: iteration 1 Error in MEEM(object, conLin, control$niterEM) : Singularity in backsolve at level 0, block 1 The long story: I have data from an experiment on pairwise comparisons between 3 treatments (a, b, c). So a typical run of an experiment

Not able to see length in another function
Hello everyone, I have the following code that builds <option> into a <select>. buildModel() is called first, then setModel(). For some reason, I can''t get the length of the "model" options in setModel(), but can after they are built in buildModel(); function buildModel(originalRequest, json) { var model = $(''model''); //might need to

Global variables and onComplete in Ajax.Request
Hello everyone, Just a note, I have to pass my JSON in the response body. I''m aware of the X-JSON header, but am passing too much data to use it. No problem and I have code that has it working well. While I''m getting my JSON data back and can do whatever I''d like with it in "setMakeVars", I''d like to set it to a global var "gljson" below,

I''m using this page as a create and edit page for a car database. If I''m calling the page in edit mode, I''ll want the make, model and year set (using the

Two-factor ANOVA Help
Hello, I am trying to perform a two-factor ANOVA analysis using a blocking design with "Vol" as the response variable. My intent is to have "Rater" treated as the treatment variable and the "Pipe" treated as the blocking variable. [PATCH] core: Honor DISPLAY text background color when in VGA mode
When in VGA graphics mode, BIOS int 10h ah=09h doesn't seem to treat high-order attribute bits as a background color; instead, it apparently always uses black. This means that a background color requested via <SI> in a DISPLAY file is not honored in VGA mode. However, the BIOS supports an "XOR" mode, in which the pixels to be written are XORed with pixels already on the

Bold-face axes with Boxplot
I am wondering if someone could cast some the box plot function. I have been having trouble manipulating boxplot to display the x & y axes in bold. I had the same problem with the x & y labels but managed to get around that with the "mtext" function. The below code is what I have thus far..... boxplot(SV ~ Rater, data=volumes, xlab=NA, ylab=NA, cex=0.75,
