DNS Update not working after update to 4.5.3
I suspect a zone overlap. Did you add an extra zone manualy in bind? Or something like this... You added : Zone1.Domain.TLD and then Domain.TLD But then with the reverse zones. Because this : > Jan 20 13:58:09 samba02 named[10811]: zone 2.168.192.in-addr.arpa/NONE: > has no NS records Does not look likes the samba_DLZ log lines but a pure bind log line. Review you bind config and

dnsupdate_nameupdate_done - Failed DNS update
Hi, All 3 of my DCs regularly display an error in syslog almost exactly every 10 minutes. They have been doing this for quite some time, and I have so far ignored the message as everything else DNS-wise seemed to mostly be working - but I figured it was worth getting to the bottom of it if I can. So this isn't new at all but rather something that has been present for some time. I am using

RNDC errors using SAMBA_INTERNAL_DNS
Hi all, I've set up a simple domain using Samba 4.4.2 from source under Ubuntu 16.04. I accepted the usual defaults and basically followed wiki.samba.org to the letter. The main thing is I'm using Samba's internal DNS and not Bind (Bind is not even installed on the system). In the log.samba file on the first DC I kept getting this: [2016/04/28 17:01:02.716292, 0]

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
The two systems I'm referring to are on different domains, different locations. No connection whatsoever except me being the one administering both. According to oEMInformation the server was provisioned by 4.3.3. I just checked the Samba log file and it seems that version 4.7.4 was running before the update. I'm now looking at the logs right before the upgrade and indeed, there have

After upgrade to 4.9.4, internal DNS no longer working
I was too quick to send my previous email. It can't really be a problem of the package since I have, as mentioned, another system with the exact same setup and the exact same package versions and it all works there... Samba4 on Ubuntu server
New to linux and new to Samba so any direction in troubleshooting would be helpful. Here is what I have so far. Within a half an hour of a reboot of the server my cpu reaches high numbers and becomes slow to respond on all actions. With my limited understanding I have used vmstat to observe the system. I noticed is that the numbers of forks grows from 1-2k to 43k within 30 minutes after reboot. I

Samba AD-DC on FreeBSD-12.1 Jail
I decided to scrap everything and restart from the very beginning. I created a new jail. I installed samba410 samba-nsupdate py37-dnspython as these are current. I provisioned a domain: samba-tool domain provision --adminpass=INstall166 --dns-backend=SAMBA_INTERNAL --dnspass=INstall166 --domain=BROCKLEY --host-name=SMB4-1 --host-ip=192.168.8.166 --option="bind interfaces only=yes"
