At the moment if Samba4 acts as DC (domain controller) it doesn' t
support neighborhood browsing, that is computers in a local group are not
visible in network neighborhood.
I have not been remaining think about working of the functionality.
And have found this one:

Functionality of Nmbd at Active Directory mode of Samba4 !
As I know runnig of Nmbd at Acitve Directory mode is quite unofficial now
(but possible) .
I will not ask why it is not reccomded to run Nmbd within Samba4 started at
AD mode.
But if somebody can tell, you are wellcome.
But when nmb code implementation is planned to AD part ?
That is when nmb functionnality adding to Samba4 acting as AD is planned ?

Samba4 beta8: samba daemon doesn' t start nmbd daemon !
Hi anybody.
I use Samba4 beta8 as AD DC. But also I need fully working file server with
showing it at neighborhood.
In Samba4 beta6 I run samba as main daemon, then nmbd that server could be
showed at neighborhood.
But in beta8 doc is written: "When running an AD DC, you only need to run
'samba' (not nmbd/smbd/winbind), as the required services are co-coordinated

Functionality of Nmbd at Active Directory mode of Samba4 !
P. p. S.: Oh, I have remember.
Quite important thing.
There are some soft where is not address line where you can put
\\server\folder address to access or you can not get access resource via
\\server\folder, it only via computer list.
For example: Far.
By typing \\server - there is error.
Only: Alt+F1/F2, network, MS Windows Network, GroupName, CompName.
If it is visible - Samba4 with Nmbd, it is

Browsing over subnet Problem & nmbd stop working after a few hours
Hi
I have 2 Problems
1.
I have a Samba server acting as a PDC on 2 subnet 192.168.0.xx and
192.168.88.xx, and 2 samba server as a stand alone file sharing server
server. I used iptables to route the two network with the PDC as the router
The PDC acts a DC and a WINS Server , I've set up the dhcp servers to give
the wins address of the PDC, I can call machine in the 192.168.0.xx subnet

There is router/vpn server at Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with 2 static NICs - Lan

Name Resolution (Network Browsing) in Samba4 server with Vista Client?
Hello,
I'm trying to get a samba4 server to show up while "network browsing"
on a Vista client, but with no success. I've scoured the web and tried
many things, but most documentation is for samba3. I can however mount
the samba4 share using it's UNC path, but I really want netbios name
resolution to work.
With samba 3.0.28, as soon as I start smbd and nmbd, I can
