Problems with t38modem and bitrate sent to t38-termination service
Hi all the people in the list!
I'm new on this list, this is my first post.
I configured asterisk 1.6 with freepbx 2.7 and dahdi to send faxes with
t38modem conected to hylafax as a sip extension of asterisk.
Everything is supposed to be configured fine, the faxes start sending, but
at the middle of the transaction, it fails. The T.38 termination provider
told me that they were receiving

Hello!
I'm still trying to get a working t.38 configuration w/ pjsip.
I'm now able to send t.38 faxes to my own extension:
hylafax -> t38modem -> extension -> extension -> t38modem -> hylafax.
The fax is sent by t38modem. The receiving part of t38modem accepts the
call, sends ReInvite for t.38 and things are working as expected.
Now, let's do the nearly same

Asterisk T.38 Passthrough + T38Modem/Hylafax - has anyone had luck with this?
Hi,
I'm trying to get T.38 passthrough to work to T38Modem and Hylafax so
I can terminate T.38 faxes from an ATA.
However I haven't had much luck. I've tried two supposedly T.38
capable ATAs, the Grandstream 206 and the 502.
The 286 seems to connect to T38Modem, but Hylafax doesn't get any fax data.
The 502 never even gets fax tones from Hylafax, so it seems like its
t.38 is broken

Stir-Shaken for asterisk
A few weeks... like in a year and a few weeks:
https://transnexus.com/blog/2020/fcc-mandates-stir-shaken/
Some interesting bits in there as well, like:
"These rules do not apply to providers that lack control of the network
infrastructure necessary to implement STIR/SHAKEN."

I'm pretty sure that means your are using a non-color capable terminal,
or your termtype variable is incorrect. What are you using for a
terminal emulator?

Hi,
I had posted this a few hours ago, but got caught in moderation for
size. I trimmed down the pic and attached.
I am on an Ubuntu 16 workstation, in an Ubuntu terminal window, ssh'ed
to the PBX (amazon instance). You can see my term type matches yours.
I really don't know why yours doesn't work. Perhaps you can tell us
what your terminal emulator is, what you are running it

I may have missed this originally - are you saying you have trouble when
internal phones call each other, if they are on different VLAN's?
That's a pretty big deal.
I didn't see my post with the graphs

Asterisk and hylafax: how to debug ...
Hi,
I hope you might give me some hints on how to find where my
configuration is wrong, I am new to Asterisk and do not know, how to
find the problem.
Running Asterisk (version: 1.8.13.1~dfsg-3) on Debian Wheezy. On the
same maschine: Hylafax fax server. I want hylafax to use t38modem (a
virtual T.38 modem) for sending faxes. t38modem schould connect to
asterisk on the same host.

Voice "broken" during calls
Hello Luca,
We are still playing with visualization of your data, but I didn't want
you to wait any longer for some results. I think I blame both DT and
the Pi :)
First, a look at the phone side of your Banana Pi. The first thing we
noticed is there were a LOT more packets in one direction (north towards
DT) than the other (towards the phone):

IAXModem or T38Modem?
Hi all,
I'm installing Hylafax on my Asterisk system. From what I've read, I can
either use IAXModem or T38Modem to provide the virtual fax device. So at
the risk of starting a religious war, which one should I use?
I don't mind running IAX if I have to. I want as much flexibility and
stability as I can get.
So, what are your recommendations?
Mike.

Voice "broken" during calls
Hi,
We are working on a product to analyze pcap files of VoIP calls. So far
it does a reasonable job of analyzing the frequency distribution of
packets in both directions, pointing out which direction packet loss /
bad jitter occurs. If you can trap the traffic on the outside and the
inside of your Banana Pi and send me the pcap files, I would be happy to
run it through our analyzer as

T38modem in loopback mode does not work on asterisk 1.4.20.1
Hi!
I'm trying to get t38modem working and started with the loopback mode. I
installed everything according to
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/T38modem+configuration+with+Asterisk
and used a stock asterisk 1.4.20.1 compiled from source. Openh323,
ptlib_unix and t38modem are compiled from source as well, as outlined
on the wiki.
Hylafax starts sending the job (sudo faxstat -s shows one

Asterisk, Hylafax and T38Modem - help!
Hi All,
I know that this may not strictly be an asterisk issue, but if anyone has
any ideas on this prob it would be appreciated.
I have a working asterisk setup using Suse 9.1, a BT ISDN BRI card
(Fritz?), sipura 3000 and a few cisco 7940's. I wanted to do add faxing
into the equation, so I thought I would try and setup the following:
PSTN->asterisk->hylafax->pc

Do you have any example showing how to use SendFAX ?
I can see several examples of ReceiveFAX but not a single one showing
SendFAX.

Fax with Asterisk and T38Modem
Hi,
I'm fighting with HylaFAX, Asterisk and T38Modem since some time, to get
fax2mail and mail2fax working, my SIP-provider only supports T38 and
thus using G711 with IAXModem is not an option.
I have got running mail2fax with HylaFAX+ 5.5.0, Asterisk 1.4.20 and
T38Modem 2.0.0 successfull, but I'm not able to upgrade to anything
newer than Asterisk 1.4.24.
I was able to break down this

Asterisk t38modem Fax gateway evaluation
Hi,
I am trying to fix a Asterisk setup with buggy (POTS) Fax machines. The
setup consists of the following components:
- A Digium TE121 for connectiong to E1 ISDN
- Debian box with Asterisk 1.4
- Grandstream GXW-4008 SIP ATA to which the Fax machines connect
I am aware of the problems with this type of ISDN <-> Asterisk <-> SIP
ATA <-> Fax machine installations, e.G.

Re: [hylafax-users] Having problems running sendfax from a bash script.
I've been working on a way to send faxes from a bash script. It
requires changing what parameters are used for each command. I keep
having problems with quoted strings passed to the command.
I've created a really short test script which fails on my system.
commandline="sendfax -f noreply at prudentrx.com -n -x \"Test fax\" -d
13105551212 /etc/hosts"

iaxmodem to ReceiveFAX crashes Asterisk equipped with B410P
Hi,
I'm sending twice the same file using Hylafax's sendfax app.
The first time I'm "dialing" a DID attached to the ReceiveFAX application.
The second time I'm dialing an internal extension attached to the same
ReceiveFAX application :
1. sendfax/hylafax/iaxmodem ----> asterisk ----> dadhi ----> dahdi ---->

spandsp as T.38 termination?
It seems that Spandsp has everything in it (when you include rxfax and
txfax) to be a T.38 termination when used with Asterisk 1.4?
And if so, what version of Spandsp?
What version of IAXModem (so I don't have to also deal with T38Modem)?
