DH parameter length too small?
Hello, from my understanding, using 1024bit DH parameters results in a not sufficiently secure key exchange for DH(E). Therefore I think it would be advisable to have parameters of at least 2048bit . In fact, I would see a great benefit in chosing parameter length arbitrarily. I also do not see the benefit of parameter regeneration. What were the design goals here? Thanks, J?rg L?bbert

dovecot 2.1.1 + pigeonhole + avelsieve
Hello all, I've squirrelmail-webmail-1.4.22, dovecot 2.1.1, dovecot-2.1-pigeonhole-0.3.0 installed and working. But I've problems to get the avelsieve plugin for squirrelmail working with dovecot. The "Message Filters" show up in "Options" of squirrelmail, but "Could not log on to timsieved daemon on your IMAP server ........." dovecot log shows: Mar 6

Restrict permission changes
Hello, I've a share with preset permissions on different directories including acls. So in one folder for example users can only read and into other read and write. Everything works fine. The Problem is if one user decides to change the permission of a file or directory (via Windows) the acls and permissions get are messed up. How can I restrict users from changing permission on a share? I

Complex proposal v2
All, Here is the second revision of the proposal for a complex type in LLVM. It clarifies a few things that came up during discussion and adds additional operations for complex types. -David Proposal to Support Complex Operations in LLVM ---------------------------------------------- Revision History v1 - Initial proposal [1] v2 - This proposal - Added complex of

Complex proposal v3 + roundtable agenda
Hi, There’s growing interest among our users to make better use of dedicated hardware instructions for complex math and I would like to re-start the discussion on the topic. Given that this original thread was started a while ago apologies if I missed anything already discussed earlier on the list or the round-table. The original mail is quoted below. In particular, I’m interested in the AArch64

ssl-params: slow startup (patch for consideration)
Based on the recent found weaknesses in DH key exchange, http://weakdh.org/ I increased ssl_dh_parameters_length to 2048 bits, and found waited for 5+ minutes for dovecot to come back online after a restart. Unless you got a fast machine, the initialization of DH parameters can exceed your patience. Regeneration may not be a problem (if ssl_parameters_regenerate=0 or if Dovecot uses old

Complex proposal v3 + roundtable agenda
Ahead of the Wednesday’s roundtable at the developers’ conference, here is version three of the proposal for first-class complex types in LLVM. I was not able to add Krzysztof Parzyszek’s suggestion of a “cunzip” intrinsic returning two vectors as I could not find examples of intrinsics that return two values at the IR level. The Hexagon intrinsics declared to return two values do not actually

SNMP issues since 5.6 upgrade
Hi there... I scanned the archives and did some Google'ing ... can find some references to these errors but didn't find a solution. This started when upgrading some servers from 5.5 to 5.6 release. It's net-snmp creating a lot of errors in the /var/log/messages suddenly. I do believe this is only happening on 64 bit installations but not 100% sure yet... [root at mail1

RFC: Complex in LLVM
Hey all, I volunteered to put together a proposal regard complex in LLVM. Consider the following to be a strawman meant to spark discussion. It's based on real-world experience with complex but is not expected to cover all use-cases. FREAK/Logjam, and SSL protocols to use
List, good afternoon, I was reading up on a TLS Diffie Hellman protocol weakness described here https://weakdh.org/sysadmin.html which is similar to the earlier FREAK attack, and can result in downgrade of cipher suites. Part of the solution workaround that the researchers describe for Dovecot here https://weakdh.org/sysadmin.html includes altering DH parameters length to 2048, and

Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated
Hi Michael, thanks for getting back to me. I understand the alternatives to squat are solr and lucene and have to be explicitly included into dovecot at compilation. Unfortunately I am not in a position to manually compile dovecot. What other option do I have to use full text search in dovecot without manually compilating my package? Thanks and cheers Benjamin Am 20.03.2019 um 20:31

Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated
Hi everyone, I have now updated to dovecot 2.3.4.1 - unfortunately the issue still persists. Can anyone help me figure out if this is due to a misconfiguration on my part or another error? Any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers Benjamin Am 14.03.2019 um 23:28 schrieb benjamin at godbersen.info: > Hi everyone, > > I am running into a problem when trying to use fts_squat in a virtual
