Multiple Network Cards + Multiple Bridges on debian lenny
Hi all,
I''m searching for a tutorial how to setup multiple network cards with
xen network bridge setup in debian lenny. My problem is, bridges seams
only to work if i put an ip adress in dom0 to them.
Thanks,
Alex

Using network-script with Xen 4.4.1 (aka what will I do without xend?)
I normally use the network-script parameter in the
'/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp' configuration file to configure network
bridges. However, the latest release of Xen4CentOS (which comes with Xen
4.4.1) has xend disabled by default.
Can I continue to use network-script without xend? If not what is the
recommended method for automatically configuring network bridges with the
latest release of

Fast Network Bridge
Hi,
I''m working a lot with xen and migration. Now I switched to Xen 4.2 which is really nice. But there is one big problem. A performence issue.
I used Xen 4.1 with a networkbridge by using the following line in the vm-config:
vif = [ "bridge=eth0,script=vif-bridge" ]
In Xen 4.2 this is not possible anymore so that i have entered the following in my /etc/network/interfaces:

HVM and network interfaces passthrought (without hardware pci passthrought)
I would like to know if there is a way to "passthrought" the network
interfaces that are phisically connected to dom0, eg, an additional pci card
connected to the mb.
I only understand a little about bridging, routing etc.
Thank you a lot.

Creating bridged network
Dear Xen users,
I''ve the xen hypervisor installed correctly on CentOS, and it boots correctly too. But the bridged network could not be configured using the commands and steps on the Internet... is it that hard to do in CentOS?

Mohammad Altahat

Using network-script with Xen 4.4.1 (aka what will I do without xend?)
I have seen those documents, I did not see anything that indicates how
_automatic_ bridge configuration could be enabled with xl.
For my specific set up I have two bridges (xenbr0 -> peth0 & xenbr1 ->
peth1). If I have to configure this manually with ifcfg scripts I will,
but if an automatic method is provided or is possible with xl I'd prefer to
use that.

Bridge networking in Debian
Starting a new Xen setup, with off-the-shelf Wheezy, and the standard Xen packages,
which turn out to be Xen 4.1
I used to just put a (network-script network-bridge) in the Xen setup, but I guess
you can''t do that anymore...
There are a variety of recipes to setup the network and bridging, since apparently
the Xen setup doesn''t does this for you anymore. I''ve gone

dom0 networking disabled
Hi folks, I''ve been trying to work out this situation for a few days now
without much success and dug all over the archives for similar issues,
none of which seem to relate exactly.
I installed Debian Etch and the Xen (3.03) kernels / binaries on a Dell
server. It works fantastic with all the default configurations with one
strange flaw - as soon as the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge

Does anyone know how to install Xen 3 on Ubuntu.
Today, apt-get install xen 4.1, but I think Eucalyptus 3.1.2 only work with
Xen 3.
Thanks

xen+chroot
I have some questions regarding xen:
My setup is like this: 2 1TB disks with each with /boot and LVM. These two
are in RAID1 configuration on the two disks. Also, I have installed Debian
4.0r5 (etch) with kernel 2.6.18.
So here are some concerns:
Shall I create a new user, chroot it and then create the VMs under this
user? I need to check if this is possible. If it would, then would it

xen hotplug scripts not working
Hello Everyone,
I have set up a xen server with 10 physical network devices using the bridge mode of XEN. This is because I want to split and separate the network traffic for security reasons. Maybe the best way is to use pci back hide. But I want to understand what is going on here.
For all testings I have only activated eth[0-3].
My first tests were successful. I have created a VM using

adding static route via network setup fails
I want to add the following route command
route add -net 192.168.2.0/27 gw 192.168.2.3

Two Interface Setup + router problems II
Hey all, A while ago today I posted about not being able to get my two
interface setup working with a router (di 652 wireless/wired). I
recieved help from Tom and got everything in the router turned off and
set it up as a switch rather then a rouiter, this still never
corrected my problems. Use tcpdump I see there is alot of traffic, but
as soon as I dhcpcd eth1 (local) I loose all outside access

xen randomly crashes all VMs hosted on iSCSI NAS array
I inherited a xen server that is setup to have all the VM images hosted on
an iSCSI mounted NAS array. We been experiencing a random (about every 2-3
days) issue where xen would crash all the VMs, leaving nothing but the
Domain0 running. What appears to be happening is something causes the iSCI
mount to hiccup. Running "vgchange -a y" and restarting all the VMs brings
everything up.

SSH hostname login
I run CentOS 4.1 on a remote server and did a minimal installation. My
problem is that I can not login using the HOSTNAME, must use the IP.
1. edited the - /etc/sysconfig/network
2. changed - HOSTNAME=a266
3. restarted the network
Looks ok, hostname appears when logged on via IP, but can't use the
HOSTNAME to log on from client.

order of network interfaces in domU messed up?
Hi,
until now, i have been using Xen 3.0.2. Now i upgraded to Xen 3.0.4.
Can anybody confirm, that the ordner in the config files for the network
interfaces has not changed?
My config file used to read:
vif = [ ''bridge=xenbr0'', ''bridge=xenbr1'' ]
So inside the DomU, eth0 was attached to xenbr0 on the host and eth1 was
attached to xenbr1.
Now i upgraded to
