[PATCH/RFC OSSTEST] Debian PV netboot guest test
I''ve been working on this on the odd occasion, I think it mostly works, or it did last I tried which was a while back. I''m sure it is too hacky in places. My plan was to clean it up on the next test day. I''m mostly just sending this for Wei''s benefit since he is independently looking at adding Debian HVM guest tests for OVMF purposes. Ian. commit

[PATCH RFC V2 0/6] OSSTest: OVMF test job
RFC v2 of this series This series implements a basic test job for OVMF guest. The test case will install an OVMF guest and try to boot it. It is also possible to derive a debian HVM installation test case from ts-ovmf-debian-install - the only difference should be the BIOS option. I tested running the test script without specifying BIOS, it worked fine. I just didn''t figure out a

[PATCH OSSTEST 0/6] Support for serial logs from marilith boxes
The marilith boxes use a conserver (http://www.conserver.com/) setup for serial access. Our installation exports the logs via http allowing us to grab them with wget. Sending debug keys with is handled separately via xenuse. xenuse ultimately speaks to the conserver too but it abstracts away the IP and port to use so this is preferred. With these changes the correct Serial hostprop for a

[PATCH OSSTEST] standalone-reset: fix check for existing d-i and creation of symlink
We need to check for "$diver-$suite" not just "$diver" now Also when creating the current symlink only do so if mg-debian-installer-update did something, since it will now silently ignore unavailable combinations (e.g. armhf on Squeeze) Signed-off-by: Ian Campbell <ian.campbell@citrix.com> --- standalone-reset | 8 +++++--- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 3

[osstest] production-config: reduce min log expire age from 7d to 4d :-(
The interval between having to clear out the git caches has become ridiculously short. I''m going to arrange to keep the logs for less long. We need, however, to have more space for logs. I will try to organise this. We also need an approach to git caching that is less wasteful of space. If anyone fancies writing a competent caching proxy for git, please get in touch. Failing that

Xenoprof error and missing Xen-syms events
Hello everyone, I''m trying to run Xenoprof (Oprofile 0.9.4) in Gentoo Linux 2.6.21-xen (64 bit) on an AMD 64 system and am facing the following two issues: 1. Xenoprof complains about a write error, but starts and runs anyway. dom0 # opcontrol --start-daemon --active-domains=0 --event=CPU_CLK_UNHALTED:75000::1:1 --vmlinux=/usr/src/linux-2.6.21-xen-dom0/vmlinux

Is there a facility in R similar to MatLab "syms" that allows using unevaluated numeric symbols in matrices?
Hi, I'm trying to use R to get eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix whose elements are of the form (2 * lambda), -(lambda + mu), etc. I'd like R to treat this matrix as a numeric matrix without treating lambda and mu as variable names but rather as some sort of atomic quantities (and hence give eigenvectors in terms of mu and/or lambda). MatLab and Mathematica both do this,

[OSSTest PATCH 0/2] MegaRAID SAS support and RebootTimeExtra documentation
Hi Ian-s, Two small patches for OSSTest. The first one turns on compiling the Linux modules for MegaRAID SAS, needed for the ultralisk machine in the Cambridge lab. The second adds an entry in the README file about the RebootTimeExtra host property, which I also needed to use for ulttralisk, as scrubbing 368GB of RAM really takes a lot! git://xenbits.xen.org/people/dariof/osstest.git misc Let

Sym links to subfolders?
I just installed dovecot 0.99.10.6 and I'm trying to use symlinks for subfolders. I have my mail in ~/Maildir and I want to make symlinks such as from .Sent to ~/Mail/Sent. All of these folders are maildir and the permissions are correct. I've searched the list and I cannot find anything stating that it should not work. In fact I've seen posts that claim it should work. However, it

smbfs, strange sym link import, starting with kernel 2.6.0
After installing kernel 2.6.0 on a samba client machine, the following problem occurred: The server: One machine in the networks acts as a file server using samba 2.2.3. (Debian-Woody). It exports one share to the network. The directory structure below that share contains a few subdirectories as well as a few sym links pointing to directories on other hard disks in the server machine. Samba is

using sym-links with Samba
I have a File Server with 3 HDDs. Everyone has a directory with the name "samba". One of the HDD has a secondary Directory with the name "samba_nfo". In this Directory,i have created links to the other shares. My Question is: Can a Client follow this links with the smb.conf Option "wide links = no". It is a security Problem when i turn this Option to "yes"

daemon and absolute sym-links
I THINK I've found a bug in rsync. When running an rsync daemon, absolute sym-links are not created correctly on the daemon end; the leading 'slash' is stripped off. To 'fix' this behavior, the following 3 changes can be made (to version 2.5.5): flist.c:63 add: extern int am_daemon; flist.c:538 (was 537) modify: if (sanitize_paths && !am_daemon) { config.h:316

rsyncd bug for sym-links
I'm 99% sure there is a bug in rsync when running in daemon mode on a 'remote' server. The bug is that when trying to rsync a sym-link, the daemon 'leg' of the code strips off the leading path separator (for linux, this would be a '/'). I have produced a 'fixed' version of the code and we have been using it for at least 6 months. We've also used the

__stderrp sym unresolved in 4.8 stable
When I try to start X, I get the following. Any help here? I track stable via cvsup, sup'd on 4/29/03, and cvs up the system having problems, which is running FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/lib/libm.so.2: Undefined symbol "__stderrp" objdump -r /usr/lib/libm.so.2 show the symbol __stderrp. What library resolves that and why is it not defined? Daryl Spartz

max rsa key length, sym. cipher and digest recommendations ?
Hello, I understand that I can use the openssl ciphers and digests available on my systems, i.e. those in the list generated by "openssl list-cipher-commands" and "openssl list-message-digest-algorithms". I want to create a admin vpn network between my servers and my workplace. Network throughput is not a big issue, I am using ssh and the cli, however I would also do

Rsync of filesystems with sym-links to other hosts
HI, I have a scenario where a filesystem i.e /fs13/m6.uecommon.1/wmt8/utils is residing on a fileserver i.e. fs13. Contents of this filesystem are as follows: # ls -l /fs13/m6.uecommon.1/wmt8/utils lrwxrwxrwx ........ include-> /fs12/m6.uecommon.1/utils/include lrwxrwxrwx ........ tool_utils-> /fs12/m6.uecommon.1/utils/tool_utils The filesystems being pointed to i.e
