[PATCH] vhd-util create: add -C|nocow option
Add ''-C'' (nocow) option to vhd-util create. Btrfs has terrible performance when hosting VM images, even more when the guest in those VM are also using btrfs as file system. One way to mitigate this bad performance is to turn off COW attributes on VM files (since having copy on write for this kind of data is not useful). According to ''chattr'' manpage, NOCOW

What to use for ti in back-transforming summary statistics from F-T double square-root transformation in 'metafor'
Hi Dr. Viechtbauer, I'm doing meta-analysis using your package 'metafor'. I used the 'IRFT' to transform the incident rate. But when I tried to back-transform the summary estimates from function rma, I don't know what's the appropriate ti to feed in function transf.iirft. I searched and found your post about using harmonic mean for ni to back-transform the double

pv-grub will cause page fault if build with flag -fstack-protector
Hi, List, In checking the page fault problem when using pv-grub to start domU in opensuse12.3[1], found that the problem is caused by ''-fstack-protector'' flag which is introduced in rpm build: export EXTRA_CFLAGS_XEN_TOOLS="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" export EXTRA_CFLAGS_QEMU_TRADITIONAL="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" export EXTRA_CFLAGS_QEMU_XEN="$RPM_OPT_FLAGS" with

[PATCH]ioemu: fix altgr-insert behavior
When access to a Xen DomU (Linux) from a VNC client in Windows, alt-gr key is not working properly. When Alt + another key pressed, vncserver receives Altgr down, Altgr up and key down messages in order, that causes incorrect output. With following patch, when vncerver receives key down message, it first check if the keysym needs altgr modifer, if it needs altgr modifier but altgr is not

Managing Feature Backlogs
What techniques and tools do you use to manage your feature backlogs? It could be as low tech as a post-it note, TODO file in your Rails project tree, or as high tech as a web-based collaborative tool. Thanks, Mark

Xen 4.3 release planning proposal
Hello everyone! With the completion of our first few release candidates for 4.2, it''s time to look forward and start planning for the 4.3 release. I''ve volunteered to step up and help coordinate the release for this cycle. The 4.2 release cycle this time has been nearly a year and a half. One of the problems with having such a long release is that people who get in features

[LLVMdev] Summer of Code ideas
Hi, I intend to participate in Google's Summer of Code this year, so I'd like to bounce another idea around to see what you guys think. (I posted a similar message to cfe-dev just now.) Be warned: this will shock you. It may even horrify you. 1. Implement a 16-bit x86 backend. (*Chris recoils in horror*) Yeah, I know 16-bit x86 is dead, but I find it interesting for historical purposes

[LLVMdev] LLVM Roadmap 2007-2008, PowerPC, multithreading, LLVM 2.0, etc ?
On Tue, 10 Apr 2007, Valery Khamenya wrote: > where could one find any LLVM development roadmap for this > and perhaps next year? We generally have not published a road map like this because it is very difficult to do it in a meaningful way. Because LLVM is largely driven by volenteers and because noone working on it guarantees that they will finish a project that they start, we

snapshotting disk images with exchange db / volumes
I have been asking at technet about if I could snapshot an exchange db volume[1]. But it looks like that windows server backup is sort of doing the same. Creating vs image, and backup that one. However they truncated the exchange db log files after a succesful procedure. I was wondering if someone is doing this already. How does the guest freeze work exactly in windows (In linux it is quite

Status of the git.llvm.org git repos
I was under the impression that the (non-monorepo) separate LLVM and Clang git repos hosted at git.llvm.org would be maintained for a year after the transition to the mono repo. I don't recall where I got that impression from; probably from some of the many emails on the migration topic. I noticed today that updates to these repos ceased on October 22nd of last year following transition to

What determines DROP versus delay ("BACKLOG")?

libxl drivers for libvirt?
Hey Jim, I was wondering if you or someone on your team could give me an idea what the status of libxl support is in libvirt, particularly wrt various releases? I''m asking because I''m going to UDS next week to talk about the 13.04 release, and it would be good to get Xen 4.2 in; but that in part depends on whether there will be libvirt support for 4.2 in whatever version of
