deleting nodes in puppet-dashboard makes it hang
Hi,
I have 51 clients in puppet-dashboard – and when I tell it to delete a node
– it simply hangs forever. If I try to just open / on the puppet-dashboard
website – I get a proxy timeout (I have apache in front).
I end up having to kill webrick and start it again – with the node NOT
being deleted :(
I have commented on an issue here - which seems to be about the same:

zfs acls and MS office applications
I'm trying to use zfs acls in solaris 10. I've looked at past posts
regarding this and some online help, but am stuck. I'm currently using
samba 3.3.9; I've had the same problem with 3.3.7. samba is compiled
and running as an Active Directory member server (compiled with ldap and
kerberos). The zfs disk is local. I'm not using winbind. I compiled
with zfsacl module.

Wine compile probs
Hi all! =)
For the first time ever i have a problem with wine.. so must say the error rate on my end is extremely low (been using the betas bout 3-4 years now) :D
Well down to business..
I have some probs compiling 1.1.8, the 'confugure' works like a charm as allways, 'make depend' has no probs at all but 'make' gives me:
Code:

How do I set global noop?
I''m trying to set a global noop but it doesn''t seem possible,
There are 2 bugs open about this which to me look pretty serious as the
expected behaviour isn''t the case.

Hi guys,
I've got a problem where if I set permissions on a folder(Admin)
"setfacl -R -d -m u::rwx,g::wrx,o::- Admin/" and "setfacl -m o:- Admin"
I get the following.
mail:/data/samba/shared # getfacl Admin/
# file: Admin
# owner: BCP+administrator
# group: samba
user::rwx
user:samba:rwx
group::rwx
group:BCP+admin:r-x
mask::rwx

Create a share - permissions
Hi
I am having problems with permissions when creating a share on a Linux
Server. The permissions changes every time from:
drwxr-wxr-wxr to drwxr-xr-x (chmod 777 or chmod a+wrx)
I can access the share, but I cannot create new files, copy etc.
Mandrake 10.0 for i586

I can share files and printers. Although printing is only possible after I

After that printing from clients is possible
when restarting lpd it say's:
permissions of 'file name' are 0755 not 600 and it is changed accordingly
Then printing from a client is not

how do you test and release puppet changes?
We are in the process of evaluating our puppet related test and
release process and interested in knowing what other folks are doing.
We are in a position that is not ideal but is not unique from what I
can tell. Our current testing process is basically the
responsibility of each person making a change. Small changes are
committed and pushed to dev/qa/prod in one swoop with the committer

introducing puppetboard 0.0.1
Hello everyone,
It’s a lovely grey and rainy day here in the Dutch summer, as good a day as
any to release a new little project.
Its name is Puppetboard and has as aim to replace Puppet Dashboard’s
reporting functionality. It does not nor will it include ENC features. It
does all this without storing any data itself but querying PuppetDB instead.
The whole thing is built in Python and

Add permission? (was How to create a write-only share?)
Need your help! I'm very confised and tired, tried a lot of variants
but still at the start, even lost all understanding how the
permissions and masks works.
Please write me a config for the following case:
There is a directory:
'/home/shared/door', owned by 'michael:office'
shared via samba as '[door]'
How can I configure the FS and samba to let 'michael'

POSIX permission bits, ACEs, and inheritance confusion
I am running a test system with Solaris 10u6 and I am somewhat confused as to how ACE inheritance works. I''ve read through http://opensolaris.org/os/community/zfs/docs/zfsadmin.pdf but it doesn''t seem to cover what I am experiencing.
The ZFS file system that I am working on has both aclmode and aclinherit set to passthrough, which I thought would result in the ACEs being just

number of aces in big endian format?
Hello,
Not exactly samba but related to ntfs acls, so hope do not get flamed!
Recently I am seeing a response to get security descriptor query to Windows
server as Malformed Packet in wireshark trace and the number of aces
in the dacl in
big endian format. I thought all the data over the wire was in little
endian format!
I have seen this on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.

acl_xattr vs acl_tdb
Hi!
Does anyone know how many ACLs can be stored on file system (xfs) using acl_xattr module and in file file_ntacls.tdb?
Best regards
