mouse position without event
Hello,
Is it possible somehow to get mouse coordinates without using the event
mechanism ?
I need to get the current mouse position to initialize some div position,
but not at page load

non simultaneous effects
Hi all,
If I call this function bla:
function bla() {
Effect.Appear('some_element');
Effect.Appear('some_other_element');
}
Both effect happen at the same time. Is there a way to stop this from
happening? I mean, how can I delay the effect on 'some_other_element'
from happening until the effect on 'some_element' is finished?
thanks and regards,
Jeroen

Drag & Scroll
When using drag and drop, the browser window will not scroll if you move the mouse off the page. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible to create certain types of web applications.
I know this has been mentioned before and is on the Wish List, but it''s very frustrating.
If you look at this other Javascript library called "Drag''nDrop & DHTML Library"

Upgrade server to run on Rails 2.3.2/F11
Note that one of the 8 patches (#6) will be sent separately in reply
to this email, as some of the replaced lines are too long, so git
won't let me send the email. However, there is nothing wrong with
that patch, and it should be applied in the sequence listed below.
Note also that I assume this will be tested on a clean f11 install, rather
than an upgrade of an existing ovirt server

You''re missing the point. The ''e'' object in IE and Firefox has
different functions for getting at different things. The Yahoo toolkit
does not do that for you either. In their toolkit, you have

Sure, go nuts. You''re welcome to put my name in there if you want, but
don''t put my email address. If you run into more things that are
needed, feel free to add them.

Prototype question invalid error in IE6
Hi, I''m new to using Prototype and script.aculo.us. I''m trying to use
prototype to adjust an elements top margin based on the height of the
screen. I''m also using script.aculo.us to make the element move
negatively off the left of the window to create a scrolling effect. It
works fine in Firefox, but I keep getting an Invalid argument error in
IE6.
Here my margin code

[PATCH server] Update app to work with rails 2.3.2
Note that this does not fix gettext for app,
that will be done separately in another patch
as F10/F11 require different setups for that.
In the meantime gettext works if manually changed
in environment.rb to gettext_rails instead of
gettext/rails

Error in dimnames in R
Could anyone help me with some little problem? When I plot the frontier I
get the following message: *"Error in dimnames(x) <- dn : length of
'dimnames' [1] not equal to array extent"*(see below for detail). How could
I solve this. Thanks a lot.

scriptaculous & sortables/draggables scrolling?
Re,
Would anyone happen to know how to make sortable/draggable scroll down
the page while moving the object if the page happens to be larger than
the screen size? These functions seem to work only within the visible
working space.
Right now I have workaround whereby I have an omnipresent DIV on the
screen to which I drop an element, then scroll down in the browser to
a certain point, and then

RE: Yahoo!-like Event object emulation/abstractioninPrototype?
If that doesn''t work, then you''ve done something wrong somewhere.
''Cause it works for IE for me and everyone else.
The only advantage I see with the YUI toolkit is that it''ll defer
attaching events to elements that do not yet exist in the DOM. Big
whoop, only a sloppy programmer would try to attach an event to a
non-existant element. With Prototype, you can

RE: question about auto-updating div withoverflow:auto and maintaining position
You should be able to do this by changing the div''s .scrollTop value via
javascript (maybe just pick a very large number to ensure bottom is hit,
like 10,000).

changing scroll bar behavior
I need to change the behavior of the scrollbar when the user presses
up/down arrows on the scroll bar. Specifically, I''d like to be able to
set the number of pixels that scrollTop changes by when this happens.
I have a div with no content that I set a height equal to the number
of discrete positions I need to scroll through. I then tried to set
lineHeight and fontSize to 1 and 1px

good javascript xml parser
Anyone know of a javascript function that will take an xml document and
turn it into an associative array?
Basically it would take something like this:

And turn it into something like this:

XML Question
I''ve got an XML file which is pretty well structured. I need to retrieve
specific elements from that file to fill out empty HTML elements on a page.
I think what I need is xPath? Or - is that overkill? Is there some easier
way to locate an XML element?
What I have in mind is pulling the XML file using Ajax, then xPath to get
the bits I need.
Am I on the right path and does

Draggable with auto-scroll
Thomas, I''m mostly writing this to you. A couple weeks ago I grabbed the
latest SVN version of dragdrop.js because I needed the auto-scroll
functionality. I just fixed something in that script that wasn''t working
correctly and thought you might want to hear about it. You may have
already caught it since I grabbed the script but here it is anyway.
In the updateDrag() function
