similar to: ddclient stops running

when I ran "sudo yum update" on my CentOS-7.2.1511 today, ddclient was updated to ddclient-3.8.3-1.el7.noarch (from 3.7.3), and ddclient.conf was moved to ddclient.conf.rpmsave . I'm running ddclient on a remote CentOS server (with dynamic IP address). About twice a day I get email from ddclient saying "TIMEOUT: checkip.dyndns.org after 120 seconds". As far as I can see, ddclient checks the IP address every 10 minutes. So can I assume that ddclient got the address the next time it tried? I looked at the Perl source, but couldn't really disentangle it.

Is anyone running ddclient under the CentOS-7? It doesn't seem to be in epel. I've downloaded the source and it is running, but giving me endless warnings. Could I run it as a daemon? I'm running a little web-server under CentOS-5.4 , with shorewall as firewall. I used to get messages about attempted intrusions, with the IP addresses of those attempting to connect. This stopped some time ago, and my logwatch reports now are very bare. I don't recall changing the settings of logwatch or shorewall. Has there been some default change? I should say that I'm not sure

This, IMHO, is one of the more annoying bugs with the newer GRUB (which i assume is the bootloader you are using). Specifically the newer grub can't, won't boot from a drive other than the one grub is on. suggest you revert to grub 0.97 or, if any boot loader is or can be put on the drive with the 6.5 distro you can make that drive the boot drive in the bios, which is how i do it. i.e.

Has anyone succeeded in installing CentOS-6.0 by PXEboot. If so, would you say how you did it, please. I've been following the instrunctions in <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd> for installing Amavisd, Clamav and SpamAssassin on top of postfix/dovecot . Dovecot is working fine, but I want to deal with spam email. Every now and again the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf on my CentOS-6.5 server are commented out. I used to think this was the fault of NetworkManager, but I've stopped running that on the server (using the network service instead) and the nameserver removal still occurs. I'm baffled by the motivation for this, as I can't think of any situation where it would be of advantage to have
