btrfs-transacti:1014 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
Hey,
I''ve a 2x4TB RAID1 setup with btrfs on kernel 3.8.0. Under high I/O load
(BackupPC dump or writing a large file over gigabit) I get messages in
syslog such as the one mentioned in the subject.
The full non-logcheck-ignored log is under [1].
A BackupPC dump between the same exact machines onto a 2TB ext4 volume
take 90 minutes on average, the process on the btrfs volume took 465

v3.8-rc6: btrfs-transacti Tainted: GF in btrfs_orphan_commit_root
Running an Ubuntu Raring VM which was built a week ago that is now
running 3.8-rc6, I was booting it last night when it hung. After a few
forced reboots, it came back up and I found the attached in kern.log.
Mostly, the VM has been used for testing anisble deployment, so not a
lot of work, just upgrading and installing software, then rebooting.
Are these reports useful? Is there any

high CPU usage and low perf
Hiya,
Recently,
a btrfs file system of mine started to behave very poorly with
some btrfs kernel tasks taking 100% of CPU time.

btrfs raid1 on 16TB goes read-only after "btrfs: block rsv returned -28"
Dear Devs,
I have x4 4TB HDDs formatted with:
mkfs.btrfs -L bu-16TB_0 -d raid1 -m raid1 /dev/sd[cdef]
/etc/fstab mounts with the options:
noatime,noauto,space_cache,inode_cache
All on kernel 3.8.13.
Upon using rsync to copy some heavily hardlinked backups from ReiserFS,
I''ve seen:
The following "block rsv returned -28" is repeated 7 times until there
is a call trace

btrfs insane I/O amplification?
I''m on Fedora''s 3.8.5-201.fc18.x86_64. I tried to do some
not-very-heavy I/O on my system (i.e. save kernel/sys.c in emacs) and
it took about a minute. Everything went downhill from there. My
system was basically idle at the time. (I have very little in the way
of diagnostics because I couldn''t do much but hit the reset button
after a couple of minutes.)

Filesystem creation in "degraded mode"
I''ve had a go at determining exactly what happens when you create a
filesystem without enough devices to meet the requested replication
strategy:

# mount /dev/vdb /mnt
# btrfs fi df /mnt

"device delete" kills contents
Hallo, linux-btrfs,
I''ve (once again) tried "add" and "delete".
First, with 3 devices (partitions):
mkfs.btrfs -d raid0 -m raid1 /dev/sdk1 /dev/sdl1 /dev/sdm1
Mounted (to /mnt/btr), filled with about 100 GByte data.
Then
btrfs device add /dev/sdj1 /mnt/btr
results in

raid10 data fs full after degraded mount
Hello,
on a fs with 4 disks, raid 10 for data, one drive was failing and has
been removed. After reboot and ''mount -o degraded...'', the fs looks
full, even though before removal of the failed device it was almost
80% free.

Is it possible to reclaim block groups once they are allocated to data or metadata?
Hello list,
recently reformatted my home partition from XFS to RAID1 btrfs. I used
the default options to mkfs.btrfs except for enabling raid1 for data
as well as metadata. Filesystem is made up of two 1TB drives.

managedsave/start causes IRQ and task blocked for more than 120 seconds errors
If I manually delete the Q35 USB Controllers, I can use
managedsave/start, but I start getting tty errors that don't happen
before the managedsave/start.
Using libvirt 1.2.18 (-1 Arch) and QEMU git-master (2.4.0.r40384.2d69736).
Installed using Q35 chipset.
I'm running QEMU git, which allows SCSI controller migration, so I can
attempt doing this.
I started my guest, and waited for 15
