Problems using Sortable with an onUpdate callback
Hi all: I''m using sortable (very cool stuff!) on a series of divs with an onUpdate callback. Everything appears to work alright until I try to pass a parameter to my callback function like this: Sortable.create( ''page_33'', { tag: ''div'', onUpdate: updateOrder(''page_33'') } ); When I pass that parameter to the

sortable lists, database update
Hi, I have some images and I want to be able to drag them into the order I want and have the database updated accordingly. I have an unordered list elsewhere in the application that works well, but for the images I cant get it working. In my controller I have: def updateorder params[:images].each_with_index { |id,idx| ProductImage.update(id, :display_order => idx) } render :text

Storing order of sortable objects in RoR
I have two sortable lists that you can drag and drop to and from. Each object in the lists have a position field in the object''s table. I want to be able to update the position in the database automagically once a user has sorted the list. I can drag and drop just fine but I am not able to store the new positions in the database. I am trying to use Ajax.request in the onUpdate callback

cleanWhitespace and parentNode
Hey cats, I seem to have ran into a problem in IE trying to use parentNode with the cleanWhitespace method. doing something like: var div = $(''mydiv''); Element.cleanWhitespace(div); works really great, but try doing: var div = $(''mydiv''); Element.cleanWhitespace(div.parentNode); or var div = $(''mydiv''); div = div.parentNode;

sortable_element not recognizing newly added <li> elements
I have a user defined list of items. Using the sortable_element function, I can manipulate the ordering of this list fine by dragging each component around. When I dynamically add another <li> item to this list, the newly added item is _not_ "draggable" like its other siblings. Using the sortable_element function, how do I make it aware of newly added list items? Here is my

ldap ENC extension to use environment parent node
Hi, We currently use ldap ENC to set server role variables and extlookup to set domain or environment variables. I have a suggestion regarding ldap use as an ENC - if a node within ldap has the environment attribute set then it should inherit/mixin (if available) from a node named after it''s environment. It could be populated with only puppetVar type attributes so that any environment

drag and drop problem
I am working on a resource planning problem. I like to use a nice drag and drop interface for that. E.g. have a box of persons and a box of projects, now I would like to assign a persom to project by dragging it from the available resources box to a recieving project box. I have studied the amazing drag and drop shopping card code listed here http://demo.script.aculo.us/shop What I need to

document "expando" properties broken in Konqueror
I noticed that some of my event handlers and scripts evaluated in ajax responses didn''t work in Konqueror (3.5.5). document.getElementsByClassName is not defined in these contexts. I can work around this, by saving document.getElementsByClassName in a (namespaced) global variable once and reassigning it before each use. Still, this misfeature is annoying and not restricted to this

link_to, how do you combine url options and html_options?
I have a link-to that I wish to look somewhat like this: link_to "link here", new_object_path, :method => :post, :confirm => ''Press OK'', #url options :class => "css_class", :id => "css_id" #html options In any case I can either get the url_for options to work or the html options to work, but

droppables
I am not sure how many of you are using draggables/droppables but I thought I would do some experimentation and try and learn how to use them on my own. Well, I have draggables, and I have droppables. I do have one question for now. The droppable onDrop event seems to pass in 2 objects, the dropped object, and the container the object was dropped on. My question is this, can I figure

Ajax response not evaluating?
This is an odd one. I just noticed that for some odd reason, my ajax responses on graphics-world.com (rate a tutorial, report a tutorial, etc.) are not being evaluated. To make the puzzle even more interesting, it does work fine when a user is logged in! Looking at the request/response cycle in Firebug, everything is fine. Here is a sample response for non-logged in user:

InPlaceEditor scrolls to top in Firefox?
When I click an InPlaceEditor field in Firefox 1.0.7, the page scrolls up to the top. That''s disconcerting, and often ends up with the editable field out of the viewable pane. I can duplicate this on both Mac and PC. Is there a way to prevent this? Even the demo at http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/Ajax.InPlaceEditor does this. Jay Levitt

reloading fragments of pages
Hello, I have a treeview, that works with scriptaculous in order to load the nodes dynamically. I also have in the main part of the page, a table with the list of elements. The lists of elements can be drag-dropped on the treeview in order to move them around (they are also draggable on other parts of the page) I need though, to refresh the treeview to reflect changes when a folder was moved
