CentOS version of /srv/www/htdocs ?
I'm installing NagiosQL on CentOS 4.5 and am trying to follow these instructions http://www.nagiosql.org/wiki/Documentation "....decompress the nagiosql-*.tar.gz to a directory accessible by your webserver (e.g. /srv/www/htdocs)" But since there is now /srv/www/htdocs folder on my installation, I'm not sure what to do on CentOS instead. Any advice? -------------- next part

Problem with Samba re-share of a CIFS mount
Premise: I posted the same question to the linux-cifs mailing list. I absolutely don't want to cross-posting, but I am not sure if the problem is related to the cifs client or to the Samba server. If you think that this post is an unnecessary duplicate, feel free to delete it. Hi all, I have a strange problem trying to re-share, via Samba, a CIFS mount. Let first explain my network

Any pitfalls updating straight from 3.0.34 to 3.5.2?
Okay, so I've just put the sernet repo file in my yum.repos.d directory and a yum update will elevate my samba server to the latest version. Is there any pitfall that is out there that I can avoid before yum updating. Centos 5.3 samba3-3.0.34-37 & related packages openldap-2.3.43-3.el5 & related packages I still have my samba3-3.0.34 packages squirreled away so I can force downgrade

problems with lighty on linux
I''m trying to get our app running on Lighty... I followed Ezra''s instructions: http://brainspl.at/pages/rails_stack... Currently the app runs fine with webrick, but with lighty I get 404 errors on everything. I found if I don''t edit the lighttpd.conf file to use absolute paths, it works fine. The database server however is FC4, so I use Samba to create the file structure, so far as linux knows, on the database server. This is so that the the front end for the database, java code (JSP's and Servlets) also running on the database

New created users can not log in
Hi, I am using dovecot 2.2 for some time. All users on the system can log in using Horde Webmail. But now, after creating a new user on the server with <useradd -m username> this new user is not able to log in. Of course I have set a password for the new user. In the log file I can see: Sep 16 23:04:05 servername auth: gkr-pam: error looking up user information Sep 16 23:04:07

Samba replacing NFS
Hi, I have a number of web servers that mount their /htdocs (and /log and /cgi-bin) directories from a large file server. I am currently using NFS for this. The web servers are Linux, the file server a Sun E450. NFS seems dreadfully slow, and I keep reading about how it doesn't do file locking. Is there a good reason not to simply use samba, and share the volumes with samba from the Sun, and
