LOOCV over SVM,KNN
Good afternoon.
I would like to know if there is any function in R to do LOOCV with these
classifiers:
1)SVM
2)Neural Networks
3)C4.5 ( J48)
4)KNN
Thanks a lot!

Questions bout SVM
Hi everyone,
Can someone please help me in these questions?:
1)if I use crossvalidation with svm, do I have to use this equation to calculate RMSE?:
mymodel <- svm(myformula,data=mydata,cross=10)
sqrt(mean(mymodel$MSE))
But if I don’t use crossvalidation, I have to use the following to calculate RMSE:
mymodel <- svm(myformula,data=mydata)

Could you please tell me how I correct the following error message?

svm regression/classification
Hi everyone,
Can anyone please tell whether there is a difference between the code for using svm in regression and code for using svm in classification?
This is my code for regression, should I change it to do classification?:

How to calculate confidence interval of C statistic by rcorr.cens
Hi,
I'm trying to calculate 95% confidence interval of C statistic of
logistic regression model using rcorr.cens in rms package. I wrote a
brief function for this purpose as the followings;
CstatisticCI <- function(x) # x is object of rcorr.cens.
{
se <- x["S.D."]/sqrt(x["n"])
Low95 <- x["C Index"] - 1.96*se

bootcov or robcov for odds ratio?
Dear list,
I made a logistic regression model (MyModel) using lrm and penalization
by pentrace for data of 104 patients, which consists of 5 explanatory
variables and one binary outcome (poor/good). Then, I found bootcov and
robcov function in rms package for calculation of confidence range of
coefficients and odds ratio by bootstrap covariance matrix and

field names as function parameters
Hi,
I am passing a data frame and field name to a function. I've figured out how
I can create the formula based on the passed in field name, but I'm
struggling to create a vector based in that field.
for example if I hard code with the actual field name
Y = df$Target, everything works fine.
but if I use the passed in parameter name, it doesn't give me what I want,
Y = df$mytarget

Bootstrapping confidence intervals
Hi,
Sorry for repeated question.
I performed logistic regression using lrm and penalized it with pentrace
function. I wanted to get confidence intervals of odds ratio of each
predictor and summary(MyModel) gave them. I also tried to get
bootstrapping standard errors in the logistic regression. bootcov
function in rms package provided them. Then, I found that the confidence

Getting the C-index for a dataset that was not used to generate the logistic model
Does anyone know how to get the C-index from a logistic model - not using
the dataset that was used to train the model, but instead using a fresh
dataset on the same model?
I have a dataset of 400 points that I've split into two halves, one for
training the logistic model, and the other for evaluating it. The structure
is as follows:

Logistic regression model + precision/recall
Hi,
I am using logistic regression model named lrm(Design)
Rite now I was using Area Under Curve (AUC) for testing my model. But, now I
have to calculate precision/recall of the model on test cases.
For lrm, precision and recal would be simply defined with the help of 2
terms below:
True Positive (TP) - Number of test cases where class 1 is given probability
>= 0.5.
False Negative (FP) -

setting contrasts for a logistic regression
Hi everyone,
I'm doing a logistic regression with an ordinal variable. I'd like to set
the contrasts on the ordinal variable. However, when I set the contrasts,
they work for ordinary linear regression (lm), but not logistic regression
(lrm):
ddist = datadist(bin.time, exp.loc)
options(datadist='ddist')
contrasts(exp.loc) = contr.treatment(3, base = 3, contrasts = TRUE)

Question about logistic regression with ordered factor variable using the rms package (prev.Design)
Dear R users,
Hopefully someone can help me,
Maybe I just misunderstand the function in the package?
I am working with a logistic regression model.
Until now I always worked with the basic glm function, where for the model
was:
¡§ glm( disease ~ test.value + cnct , family=binomial(link=¡¦logit¡¦) ¡¨.
This works fine when test .value and concentration (cnct) are continuous
vairables.
However,

Logistic regression model (Urjent help needed)
I am using logistic regression model (lrm) of package Design.
Can some one please tell me how to calculate the average Area Under Curve
(AUC) for n-fold cross-validation
The help for lrm function says to do cross validation like this
f <- lrm( cy ~ x1 + x2, x=TRUE, y=TRUE)
val <- validate.lrm(f, method="cross", B=5)
Now I dont know what to do with variable "val" to

Factors and Multinomial Logistic Regression
Dear All,
I am trying to reproduce the example that I found online here
http://bit.ly/11VG4ha
However, when I run my script (pasted at the end of the email), I notice
that there is a factor 2 between the values for the coefficients for the
categorical variable female calculated by my script and in the online
example.
Any idea about where this difference comes from?
Besides, how can I
