[RFC PATCH 0/2] GLOBAL() macro for asm code.
Hello,
This series has been split into two patches, one for arm and one for x86. I
figured that this was easier than doing it as a single combined patch,
especially as the changes are functionally independent.
x86 has been boot tested, but arm has not even been compile tested as I lack a
suitable cross compiler. However, the changes are just text replacement, so I
dont expect any issues.

iPod on Centos 4
I'm having trouble getting my iPod working under Centos 4. I was hoping
someone else using their iPod with Centos 4 could shed some light on
this.
When I attach my iPod via USB, I get these messages:

openSUSE in domU on a CentOS dom0
Hi there,
I am new to Xen. Just began trying it out from day-before.
I have a CentOS 4.4 install on my hda6 partition. And I have a
openSUSE 10.2 install on my hda8 partition.
For openSUSE 10.2, I chose the Xen options while installing, and so I
have the xen kernels too installed. For CentOS 4.4, I downloaded the
Xen 3.0.2 source and compiled from there. (I followed the instructions

dmesg -- multiple boot messages
Today I install FreeBSD release 4.8 on a machine for the first time.
This is on a new machine so it could easily have as yet undetected
hardware faults.
I observe the 'dmesg' gives startup information not only for the latest
boot but also information generated in a number of previous boots.
I've not seen this with earlier FreeBSD realeases including 4.7.
Is it normal for FreeBSD

long character string problem
Hi All
I am having 2 very long character strings (550chars) and I want to put them as
expressions together with c(). The problem is that I also get these
double-quotes, as seen below in 'fct'. How can I remove these double-quotes? I
tried as.name() but it did not work (because of size?). These are creating
trouble with subsequent programs, which I tested with strings that for some

[LLVMdev] compounding loop exit conditions
Hi all,
I got a question on loop exit condition identification based on LLVM. I
made an assumption first that loop exit conditions are located in
exiting basic blocks. Then I use loop->getExitingBlocks() to get all
BBs. However, this policy seemed not work for combinational exit
conditions, e.g. compounding conditions consists of conditions with
logical predicates. *The problem is that

support of SMBus on ICH3
Hello all,
I have problems with enabling support for SMBus on STABLE.
My motherboard is ICH3 (82801CA).
As suggested in LINT I added 3 lines to my kernel config:
device smbus
device ichsmb
device smb
But after compiling, installing and rebooting /dev/smb[01] are
not available and no changes in kernel startup messages either.
So I

Removable media security in FreeBSD
I'm working with a FreeBSD user -- a teacher -- who's running KDE on a system
on which she neither has nor wants root privileges. She wants to be able to
mount and unmount floppies and ZIP cartridges from within KDE, using the
standard KwikDisk utility (which, by the way, generates mount and unmount
command that don't conform to FreeBSD syntax; however, it appears possible

No y-axis label using png on linux
Dear all,
I am grateful if anyone provides a solution to my problem of no y-axis
label using png on linux. If I use postscript device or X11 device, it
is fine. On Windows, it works with png. I have tried different versions
of R and none of them works.

Help: add arrows on a filled.contour figure
Dear All
I would like to use filled.contour to plot something with arrows on it. I did it in this way:
filled.contour(1:nx,1:nz,u,col=gray(rev((0:20/20))))
for (j in zseq ) for (i in xseq) arrows(i, j, i+u[i,j],j+w[i,j],length=angleng,angle=angarrow,code=2, lwd=1,col="black")
The peoblem is that the arrows use the whole device area, including the key on the right hand side of the
