Strange data frame behavior
Hello all,
I don't understand a strange behavior in data frame manipulation.
data_frame1 = data.frame(Site = c("S1", "S2", "S3", "S4", "L1", "L2",
"L3", "L4"),
Number = c(1, 3, 5, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1))
data_frame2 = data_frame1 [data_frame1$Site != "S1", ]

Serial Date
Hello R Help,
I'm working in a project with a software that register date and time data in serial time format. This format is used by excel, for exemple. In this format, 40597.3911423958 is 2011/2/23 09:23:15. First part is number os days since 1900/1/1, and second part is a fraction of a day.
I need to make this transformation in R, and use it to make some algebrian operations. I found that

By function
Hello all!
I have a data frame with nine variables and 293 cases. (attached goes
the csv file).
I need to calculate a index using the sum of one variable (N) divided
by the length of other variable (Fisherman), but for each day (Date).
I tried to use that codes:
by (cpue, cpue$Date, function (x) sum (cpue$N)/length(cpue$Fisherman))
tapply (cpue$Data, cpue$Data, function (x) {sum

anova and post hoc multicomparison tests
Hello everyone,
Like a lot of people, I have been looking for functions in R doing ANOVA
(ok) and performing multicomparisons (like Student-Newman-Keuls, etc.).
As I have been a little bit disappointed, I have bee looking through the
net for such "open source" softwares. I found one in:
http://www.statpages.org/miller/openstat/OS4.html
I have begun to use it, and it seems good and

formatting sub-second intervals
I would like to suggest that there is some documentation missing from
strptime.
There appears to be a way to show second decimals by using "%OS4" (change
the number to get more or less decimals), but it's not mentioned anywhere
that I can find.
After a long time searching and experimenting I finally found this in the
r-help archives, but I couldn't find anything in the help or

Mean calculation by two variables
Hello All,
I have a data frame (dput information below) with food item weight for fish
species.
I need to calculate the Mean proportion by weight of each food item for
each specie, as show in solution data frame (dput information below).
I use the ddply function (plyr package) in two steps. First calculate the
proportion of weight for each individual:

Hi,
I have a very simple doubt.
Look:

How to make it automatic, like I try to use paste(teste,sep="+") but the
paste dont get the teste elements separately to join again in a unique
element.

[LLVMdev] constant pool in large functions
I'm facing a problem with constant pool in large functions.
The LLVM prints constant pool at the beginning of functions.
In large functions loads can be far from constant pool. GCC resolves this
situations by spreading constants throughtout functions. A C test and the
code generated by LLVM and GCC are attached.
As you can see in the following error the ldr is too far from constant:
