3.11.5 kernel compile
Hey all,
I have just compiled the 3.11.5 kernel from kernel.org to fix the ACPI wont
shutdown issue, but I have a couple errors in dmesg I am trying to figure
out.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
The errors are:
1:
dm_mod: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing -
tainting kernel
2:
[drm] VGACON disable radeon kernel modesetting.

Asterisk on Pcengines Alix board
Hi all,
I have successfully compiled and installed Asterisk on an Alix board
(AMD Geode 500 Mhz + 256 Mb RAM) on top of Voyage linux (a Debian
variant).
I'm using it at home for a month.
I wondered how much it could be loaded, so I tested it with pbx-test:
I could place up to 15 simultaneous SIP calls before it got no more
responsive.
All in all a good, stable and cheap solution for home

Any good guides for installing Asterisk on Embedded systems like Alix boards?
Hi Everyone,
Knowing that running Asterisk on an embedded board like the Alix2d3 requires
some fine tuning. Do you know of any good guides out there that does this
from beginning to end? Looking to run this in a small office environment.
Thanks

case/capitalization of LABEL text
I''ve noticed that when using the form method Label, that the label
text is translated to html with the first character in Upper Case and
the remainder of the text string as lower case.
<%= label(:country, "USA") %> becomes <label for="country_USA">Usa</

tinc throughput on alix machines
Hi,
I've setup a wlan ap using a an alix 2d2 (AMD Geode LX 500 Mhz + AES
Offload)
and am now trying to encapsulate the wlan traffic into a vpn (tap bridge).
Though even when disabling crypto and digest (there is a crypto engine
onboard
can be setup to handle tinc encryption), the best throughput I get
is aroung 2,9 MByte per second (wget+http) (even if the client is run
locally).
The network

Centos 6.4 - doesnt power off with shutdown/poweroff cmd
Hello,
I'm looking for help figuring out why I am having problems with shutting
down a machine.
I have tested the machine using Fedora 19 and Ubuntu 12 Live CD's and both
power down without issues.
I added acpi.debug_level=1 to the grub boot as it was suggested to see more
info about ACPI in the logs
I found the following ACPI Errors in the /var/log/messages

Fwd: Migrating server
Yes please for the notes.
I re-ran the tests without the smbldap-tools. I installed phpldapadmin and
am able to login to the apache page using the cn=admin, dn=mydomain and
create entries. This kind of tells me that LDAP is working
Then I run the pdbedit -Lv and it lists all the users.
The following happens when I add the LDAP bits to smb.conf and restart
samba. The issue seems to be with samba

OpenSSH + GeodeLX + Linux + Cryptodev = Corrupted MAC on input.
Hello,
I just set up Debian Lenny on a PCEngines ALIX. This board have a
GeodeLX processor with hardware crypto accelerator, so I patched my
kernel to get cryptodev support.
Everything is fine when playin with openssl, but openssh just crash when
a large amount of data is transfered.
A small example:
alix:~# scp 100meg.test localhost:/dev/null
root at localhost's password:
100meg.test

hai, im still on holiday but i did see some things a bit, also in addition about the smb.conf
in classic mode dns forwarder is predecated, so i suggest avoiding the option.
this part, you set ssl off but also set the ports to the ssl ports.
ldap ssl = off
ldap passwd sync = yes

MeetMe() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system
I'm playing around with an ALIX 2D2 board (http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d2.htm). It's a fanless, x86 system using an AMD Geode processor with 256MB of RAM. Also available are two network interfaces, two USB ports and one serial port (no keyboard or VGA). I'm using the Voyage Linux distro, which basically is Debian Lenny optimized for this board.
Asterisk 1.6.1.12 runs fine on the

Big network, small devices
Hi everyone,
I'm interested in using Tinc for building an overlay network on top of a
community network. The overlay may consist of some hundreds of nodes,
and devices will most probably not be very powerful (Alix or
Commell-like or even less). To make the overlay network topology
resemble the real one as much as possible, all nodes would ConnectTo all
other nodes.

Centos-compatible motherboards
Hi all!
I'm toying with the idea of spending some Christmas money on a new MB and
CPU to upgrade my desktop.
Although I've always been partial to AMD chips, I'm tempted this time to
find something Intel-ish, I5, quad core, or so.
In looking at mommyboards at New Egg and Amazon, I find so many I am
unable to make reasonable determinations regarding suitability, so am
hoping some of

Xen on ALIX 2D3
Has anybody tried running Xen on an ALIX 2D3 board?
http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d3.htm
If not, has anybody ran Xen on a seriously underpowered PC? The reason
why I love these boards so much is that they run at 5W!
Of course, I would only run Xen on these for testing purposes. It would
just be nice to have a very low powered system that I can just "blow
away" VMs when I

I've installed Free Fax For Asterisk in my Asterisk box but I don't
understand how it works as when using SendFax application from dialplan, I
can't find how to introduce destination fax number.
How this application works? Do I have to call destination fax using Dial
application, detect somehow that it's a fax and then use SendFAX application

appliance to embed Centos
I'm looking for some kind of appliance like box, maybe something like
this:http://www.soekris.com/net5501.htm on which I could deploy iptables
based firewall/openvpn/DNS and other local network services in a wide
area network. I would probably install on a flash device. I would
prefer something that was relatively easy to install on, or at least has
been used with CentOS before, where
