Can't join Samba PDC from Win2k
I am trying to make my Samba server act as a domain controller, but I can't join the domain. When I go into Windows 2k and I right click the computer, the properties button, and try to make it a part of the domain, it asks me for a user account, and a password. I am not sure what user account to type in here. What user account do I type in? Below is my smb.conf file. I followed the howto from

slow to drill into directories
I have a samba server configured at a clients office and sometimes when he is drilling down into directories in his "File Explorer" it stalls. I tail'ed the log files and I ran tcpdump, but I can't see anything that stands out. What should I look at? I am running Samba Version 2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian. brian -- Brian Lavender http://www.brie.com/brian/

Application Design Question
I am designing an application to run a fishing tournament I am hosting. Each fish entered will be given a point total based on the length of the fish and the species of fish. Each species has a point multiplier. For Example Trout have a multiplier of 10 so a 20 inch Trout would have a score of 200. My conundrum is in where and when do I calculate the points. The options I have come up

Quad PRI Problems
I have been getting quite a bit of PRI Resets using my Quad PRI Digium card. Is this timing? (google somewhat leads to this) I am running 1.08 asterisk zaptel

Hi, recently I came across a deal on a bunch of Dell PowerEdge 2850 servers and I was hoping to use them to run Debian with Xen to provided virtualization support for Windows 2003 and other Debian installations. I was hoping to install 2 copies of Windows 2003 as well as 2 copies of Debian all on top of the DOM0 Debian installation. The servers have dual 3.2ghz CPU''s and include 16GB

Define absolute size of tick and axis labels in basic plots
I am currently submitting final copies of graphics to a journal for publication and they are asking that the fonts used in the plots are times new roman and 10 pt. I set the font size when I call the graphics device and in the par statement to 10. However, when I create a plot, the tick labels and axis labels are not 10 pts. I know I can use the cex commands to scale the fonts, but is there a

Shared folder doesn't work!
I can't seem to get a shared folder working properly. I am authenticating using pam, and the users have a shell account on the system. Problem is, the permissions on the messages moved into the folder don't maintain properly, and other users can't read the share. I have the following in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf namespace public { separator = / prefix = Public/ location =

Dom0 eth0 has different MAC address than expected, ignoring
Hi, I''m a newbie to Xen and I need some help. I saw user ''datto'' had a similar problem but changed to FC4 to resolve it. I''m currently running FC3 and Xen2.0.7. I did the usual ''make install'' and I can boot into Xen dom0. However, my network card is not working. The driver is found in the linux-2.6.11.12-xen0 tree but not selected. I

CYGWIN Rsync exclude/include problem
I'm having troubles with getting rsync 2.5.5 (CYGWIN version) to include/exclude files they way I expect it to. I have mulled over the list postings and man pages regarding this and I am either missing something or ... well I don' know. I have a drive with 12 folders in the root however, I only want to rsync 5 of them (the ones marked with an *) and in those 4 I want to exclude certain

Upgrade of CentOS and libvirt: need help on configuring network
I upgraded from CentOS 5.9 to CentOS 6.4. I try to reuse my virtual machines and am only partially successful: I can run them, I just cannot get the network OK and need some help with that. What I had in the past was pretty simple: both the host and the VM's used eth0 and each had an IP in the same subnet and could communicate freely. With the new install it seems somewhat more complex and I

(no subject)
Good morning, I wrote a little code in R which has to show two graphs but I can get only one. How can I adress the graphs in two files? Second, I'd like, always in the same code, to add a legend to a graph. Better, I'd like to put in such a legend a new item whose color could remind the colour ol the columns it refers to in the plot. Problem with multiple requires in Ruby DSL
I''m loving playing around with the DSL. There are some problems (ie 5237), but now that it''s Ruby, I can fix them! woo! However, I''m stumped on this one, which may or may not be related to the DSL. When trying to have a resource have a simple dependency on two things at once, it simply fails, and I''m stumped as to why. The error message is: Parameter
