network settings
Hello,
Despite of reading a lot of descriptions I don''t understand the network
configuration. I simply have too little experience.
I work remote with the machine via ssh. My dom0 is running.
I copied an existing installation into a LV and created the following file:
# cat /etc/xen/domu-sarge
# -*- mode: python; -*-
kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-4-xen-686"

adding static route via network setup fails
I want to add the following route command
route add -net 192.168.2.0/27 gw 192.168.2.3
via the normal network setup.
The result should be the following routing table (the first line):
192.168.2.0/27 via 192.168.2.3 dev xenbr1 scope link
192.168.2.0/27 dev eth2 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.2.4
192.168.2.0/27 dev xenbr1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.2.3

Cannot Static Routes
Hi,
I'd want to configure persistent static routes, ie in config files, but I
can't configure static routes, I tested:
[root at centos7 ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/routes-enp0s3
ADDRESS0=10.10.10.0
NETMASK0=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY0=192.168.1.1
logs says nothing:

Routing issue - Revisited
A number of weeks ago I had huge help from many of you configuring routing
on a server with multiple Internet facing nics. Thanks for all of your
help!!!!
I am still having a routing issue that I am hoping someone can help me
tweek. This server, besides acting as our gateway to the internet, is also
our web and email server. The server has 4 nics. Two are connected to the
internet and the

[PATCH] safer checks in network-bridge script
The network-bridge script is fragile because of how grep is used. As
one example, if I already have "xenbridge", I can''t create "xenbr".
(It''s actually worse than that, because it''s even grepping the header
output by brctl show.)
Assuming dom0 is on Linux with /sys mounted (is that a safe
assumption?) we can check for the existence of a bridge, and

Configure / enable xenbr1 on SLES10 base system
Hi,
We have configured several xen guest OSes on a server running SLES10.
The physical server is a Sun 4200 with 3 NICs installed, configured, and
working.
Each of the xen guest OSes have three virtual nics, configured for RAC,
Interconnect, and public IPs as follows;
eth0 - public (routable and registered in DNS)
eth1 - private (not routable, uses a seperate network subnet for

eth1 changed to __tmp78668633 in recent kernels
Hi list,
kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.14.el5 and
kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.19.el5
do not detect/initialize/whatever my eth1 network card any more.
With
kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.13.el5
everything is working as expected.
With the two recent kernels I only get an Interface named __tmp786686833
which is not added to xenbr...

bonding tap devices
Hello list,
Please don''t shoot me. I know I''m doing something with bonding that
bonding wasn''t made for. I just want to give it a try. I want a simple
mechanism to have a failover on a 24Mbit line to a 2Mbit line in case
the 24Mbit line goes down.
Between A and B there are two lines: a 24Mbit and a 2Mbit. I use two
OpenVPN tunnels with tap devices:

After a long break, one more try at bond/bridge nics
took a couple months off due to road blocks, hoping a fresh look would
allow me to use my server as desired.
I have three ports, eth0-2 over two nics.
I want to bond them, and then use a bridge to connect to virtual
machines on the virtual host computer.
Never having done this, I am confused on some parts.
Here is where I am at now and any pointers helpful. Single server,

VLANs in guest VMs
Hi,
We would like to use VLAN tagged packets to be sent/received by the
guest VMs
running on xen hypervisor.
Does xen bridging support vlan tagged packets
arriving on the physical nic from outside of the xen host to be passed
through with the
vlan tag to the vif of the guest with the guest VM receiving the tagged
packet ?
We have a xenbr configured with two interfaces - eth3 (physical

Xen Networking and bonded interfaces on Debia Lenny
Greetings all. This has been an ongoing issue for me for a few months, and I''ve been trying to get an answer.
My server has two NICs, and I want to set up the following:
NICs (x2) -> bond (mode 5) -> Xen Bridge -> Doms
...however, trying to configure this doesn''t seem to work: network-bridge steals eth0 instead of bond0, which breaks the bond AND my networking. The

Channel bonding on Guest VM being slow
Hi guys, Greetings for the new year
The problem faced by me is simple, I cannot get channel bonding to work perfectly with Xen.
I am trying to boost the bandwidth of guest domains by using link aggregation (a.k.a channel bonding). I have tried round robin (mode 0) and high availability (mode 1). I know that mode 1 will not give me bandwidth boost. But strangely once i try mode 1 for the guest, I
