dht_layout_dir_mismatch
Having an odd problem on a new test environment we are setting up for a partner. And not sure where to look next to figure out the problem or really understand what the dht_layout_dir_mismatch INFO message is telling me. I was turning up a 4 node distributed volume, each brick is its own 19TB ext4 partition on a hardware raid5. Each node has the volume mounted back to itself at /glusterfs via

Rebuilding a failed cluster
I had a small cluster with a disperse 3 volume. 2 nodes had hardware failures and no longer boot, and I don't have replacement hardware for them (it's an old board called a PC-duino). However, I do have their intact root filesystems and the disks the bricks are on. So I need to rebuild the cluster on all new host hardware. does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this?

Debian Squeeze packages available for Gluster 3.4.0-alpha2
I've made packages for Debian Squeeze for Gluster 3.4.0-alpha2, they are available on http://torbjorn-dev.trollweb.net/gluster-3.4.0alpha2-debs/. They built and installed successfully, and have been running nicely for a couple of hours, but your mileage may vary. The Debian packaging is on http://torbjorn-dev.trollweb.net/gluster-3.4.0alpha2-debs/glusterfs-3.4.0-debian.tar.gz. I took the

GlusterFS mount does not list directory content until parent directory is listed
Hello, Have spotted strange behaviour of GlusterFS fuse mount. I am unable to list files in a directory until parent directory is listed. However if I do list file with full path it is listed on some client nodes. Example: localadmin at ldgpsua00000038:~$ ls -al /var/lib/nova/instances/_base/ ls: cannot access /var/lib/nova/instances/_base/: No such file or directory localadmin at

compiling samba vfs module
hi All, The system is Ubuntu 12.04 I download and extracted source packages of samba and glusterfs and I built glusterfs, so I get the right necessary structure: glusterfs version is 3.4 and it's from ppa. # ls /data/gluster/glusterfs-3.4.0final/debian/tmp/usr/include/glusterfs/api/glfs.h /data/gluster/glusterfs-3.4.0final/debian/tmp/usr/include/glusterfs/api/glfs.h Unfortunately I'm

Stale File Handle Errors During Heavy Writes
I have already tried disabling sharding on a test oVirt volume... The results were devastating for the app, so please do not disable sharding. Hi, I'm still testing glusterfs for me. I#m using ubuntu with the semiosis ppa I setup a cluster of two bricks: glustersv001:/export/daten glustersv002:/export/daten So far so good. Now I want to test some issues: 1. remove one server from brick: Think that wouldn't work with: gluster volume remove-brick daten replica 1 glustersv002.mvz.ffm:/export/daten commit cause it should more

Samba 4 DC - no AES kerberos tickets - only arcfour
Hi Trever, things improved after resetting user/machine passwords, however only the session key is using aes256 now, the ticket itself is still arcfour: root at ubuntu1:~# kinit user09999 user09999 at S4DOM.TEST's Password: root at ubuntu1:~# klist -v Credentials cache: FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_0 Principal: user09999 at S4DOM.TEST Cache version: 4 Server: krbtgt/S4DOM.TEST at

Running sshd with Privilege Seperation drops connection on password change
Hi Darren/Damien, Sorry for responding so late. Still hope we can get this sorted out. Yes I am indeed using PAM for ssh authentication and disabling priv seperation is a no-go for us since it opens up a security loophole. From what I can see in ptree and auth logs, when the child passwd process returns with SIGCHLD, the parent sshd process terminates. Sshd logs are as follows as requested at

Running sshd with Privilege Seperation drops connection on password change
Hi folks, I came across this issue on both stock CentOS(v6.4) and Ubuntu(14.04 LTS) and was wondering if any of you have seen it. As far as I can tell this seems like a day-1 bug to me. PROBLEM: If I expire a linux user's password (passwd -e <user>) and then log in via ssh, it will prompt you for a password change. On changing the password successfully, sshd will drop the connection

Allow access to a share for only one machine account
I have two domain controllers running ubuntu (12.04 and 13.10) both with samba (4.1.6 and 4.1.7) installed and running (and with sssd on both machines to retrieve uid/gid from AD). I wish to set a share on ubuntu2 in the way so it could be accessible only from ubuntu1 (and by any user from ubuntu1, for instance by local root). I have found this solution though I'm not sure it solves my issue:

[LLVMdev] DataFlowSanitizer using wrong memory layout
Hi all, Any one tried using DataFlowSanitizer on Linux x86_64? I tried on: 3.13.0-44-generic #73~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 17 00:39:15 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux It assumes wrong memory layout and remaps application code segment as shadow memory, thus causing SIGSEV (Segmentation fault). Is this know? and fix under way? -Thanks, Aravind -------------- next part
