s3 winbind loosing kerbers ticket
I have 2 CentOS 5.6 x86_64 servers configured with with samba 3.5.4,
CTDB, GFS and DRDB in an avtive, active cluster. After some time winbind
looses the ticket. After this I have to do a net ads join on the server
to get things going. The main DC is a windows 2003 server with SP2. I do
have 2 more samba 4 DC's that I use for backup authentication only that
run on debian 6 that are a VM. Not

Samba 3.6 + sssd 1.9.5
I have been using winbind for awhile on y linux servers and
workstations. This has worked ok. I am changing to sssd and need to
verify the basic samba config so that samba uses sssd and not winbind.
Here is my smb.conf. My domain is an samba4 domain running forest level
2003 and domain level 2008r2.
SSSD is up and working and getent passwd can see my domain users. Pam

UID syncing issues with CTDB
I have been working on a CTDB cluster on and off for a while now. I had it
working great for a while. THen I decide dthat I wanted to change the
configuration of my replicated volumes. I changed my DRBD configuration to
match my desired configuration. Now I can get the CTDB to work quite right.
I am able to join the cluster to the domain without issues. I can also list

I have a samba 4 domain,from master, that orginally started as a win2k3

remote desktop services. I added the webapp service to but I am having

R crashes if "toFile" given "~/" in Linux envirnonment
I was running some sample code from a help page tonight and wished to
redirect the sample output to my Desktop under Linux (Mint-Debian 64 if it
makes a different). I was surprised to find that file name expansion using
the ubuquitious "~/" was not recognized, in fact it caused R to crash. Is
this expected behavior? See my output below and sessionInfo(). Also, not

predict(): NoSuchMethodError
I am currently working on a code which clusters attributes from a data set,
then uses a linear regression model to predict NA values in the data set.
The code works for almost all cases, but then errors out on a case that
seems like it should work the same.
This is the line of code that is giving me the problem:

I am seeing these errors every night in the logs. Should I be worried
about any of them? The only thing I have noticed is slow log ons.

This was so interesting I had to move it to its own thread!
Is anyone using this script? How does it perform compared to the older

SOLVED Symlink outside the share path
Okay, this problem is solved.
It turns out when I was doing the wide links and unix extensions option it
really was working. It wasn't until I logged out and logged back in to the
client to get a fresh smb connection that it worked.
So I'm good. Thanks for the help everyone. I appreciate it.

samba-kerboros-winbind
I would like to be able to use Windows Active Directory accounts for logon to a
Linux RH8 desktop. I have successfully used Kerberos to add the desktop to the
AD domain. I am also able to use Kerberos or rpc to view users & groups. I
have not been able to use winbind. I am using the Samba3.aplha22 RPM. Our AD
domain has restrict anonymous set to 1 for the DC's. Following the How-To

samba 3 keeps trying to authenticate with the nt4 pdc using port 445
Hello,
I'm running redhat enterprise as 3.2 with the included samba
3.0.2-6.3E. I'm trying to make this a domain member server in a nt4
domain. I've successfully joined the domain only after using the net
join -p 139 option to force samba to use port 139, otherwise it kept
trying to communicate over port 445. (I was watching the syn packets
with tethereal). Typing wbinfo -g comes
