Tinc and OpenWRT
Hello Jonathan,
I will probably make a tinc 1.1 OpenWrt package soon. I am already
maintener for th 1.0 package.
If you want to read about how to make the package there is this very
good documentation:

Ok. I think I'll start with the 1.0 series packages that are already
out there and get them working.

Is your package built with or without OpenSSL? How do you intergrate
with UCI?
Can I view the makefile somewhere?

Tinc and OpenWRT
Hey Saverio,
I'd really like the idea of a tinc-1.1-pre package for OpenWRT. I'm
currently using tinc-1.1 with an Ed25519-only network, really like the
new features and CLI and want to add some OpenWRT routers into the mix.
How do you plan to handle things with OpenSSL?
tinc-1.1 from git should be able to compile without it (but will then
only support the built-in algorithms). Depending

Tinc and OpenWRT
Jonathan,
I really like OpenWrt. I've deployed Tinc on ~12 routers with OpenWrt
installed. I use the Tinc 1.0 series since I don't want to support my
own packages.
OpenWrt has a nice unified configuration system. Tinc has a nice
configuration directory structure. What OpenWrt has done to merge
these two concepts over complicates things, and generally sucks.

tinc mesh setup
I admit that I am not familiar with Tinc very well but see that Tinc is running their current vpn connections. We have a scenario that has 20 different sites currently and successfully using tinc on openwrt but I am having issues adding an additional site as it will not communicate with the rest. I am not the one that originally setup the system but that person is no longer available. I have

Bug: more than one Port line in host file crashes tincd
I found a tincd crash caused by having two "Port" statements in a host's
file.
I realize this is a bug in an old version of tinc that may be fixed but I
spent the past few hours tracking it down so I'm sharing it in hopes others
can make use of this info.
I was "cleaning" up my Tinc VPN of a collection of OpenWrt routers and
tincd started crashing with "Got fatal

Tinc and OpenWRT
Greetings.
I'm new to tinc, but have so far managed to get a couple laptops and a
hosted server all connected. They're working as expected, running
Tinc 1.1-pre11, which I compiled from source.
Next I want to move on to adding my home router into the mix. My
routers run OpenWRT. I don't have experience compiling anything from
source for OpenWRT, but OpenWRT has Tinc 1.0.25

issues connecting in other sites
Hi Team,
I admit that I am not familiar with Tinc very well, but have Tinc running at approximately 20 sites and functioning as a mesh vpn/network. I am having issues adding an additional site as it will not communicate with the rest. I have taken the firmware of one and flashed it on another router to make it duplicate and then tested it working but when I change the hostname, and IP to what we

What version of OpenWRT?
I haven't tried this myself, but it looks like recent versions of OpenWRT use UCI, which seems to generate configuration files (including those for NUT) from a unified configuration syntax.

Bridging local physical interface to tinc
I can’t seem to find info about layer 2 tinc tap interface bridge with local physical nic.
I have successfully created two nodes configuration with tinc acting as switch.
My problem is ethernet packets only flow between two nodes and not to hosts on bridged nic.
Example:
Server 1 - eth0 bridged with tinc tap device, then bridge gets IP via dhcp server on physical nic subnet.
Server 2 - local

I did notice the that interface we have named br-lan did not have the proper broadcast and netmask information. I adjusted that and it looks like its now connecting but still running into issues.
Here is a snipet from the new system we are trying to connect in (from the /var/log/tinc.log file)

Feedback about OpenWrt and Tinc version to be packaged.
Hello,
I received this pull request.
https://github.com/openwrt/packages/pull/2757/files
As I wrote in the comments I am not sure that is the way to go.
Packaging a software for a distribution is not just about software
development. There are operational issues to be addressed.
A lot of people use the tinc package and they expect they configs to
survive a package update. Also they expect the

nut in openwrt
Hello,
I have a UPS device connected (USB) to a Debian server, but I want to
change it and connect to a OpenWRT router.
I installed this packages:
nut-server (2.6.5-2)
nut-driver-blazer_usb (2.6.5-2)
The problem is that I don't know where to configure it.
Anyone with a UPS connect to a OpenWRT device?
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

My package presents options in menuconfig so you can select to build
with/without: readline, curses, openssl, lzo, zlib. This allows you to make
the package as full-featured or as small as you like. Without openssl
obviously breaks compatibility with 1.0x. I have tested building with all
configurations and all build without problems, although if you change the
options between builds you must

tincctl localhost timeout
First off, thanks to all who have made tinc possible and continue to work
developing it. I hope perhaps in time I can become a useful part of this
community. :) I'm having an interesting issue with tincctl and was hoping
someone could shed some light on it. Everything seems to work correctly when
I build for OSX; however on linux and windows builds, I always receive

Thanks for the reply.
Did you like the PDF examples?
Do you want to help me build more examples for the web site so people
can download the PDF network diagrams and have sample config files to
match them?
What changes should I make to allow for easier setup/config/config
files of the 2 use cases?
For the production example, would it be
