I don't want users to be able to login into the linux machines using their windows credentials just to save their roaming profiles on a samba share. To achieve this I followed numerous pages

Failed to transfer all 7 FSMOs
Hello, I tested to transfer all 7 FSMOs from Windows Server 2003 Enterprise to Samba 4.3.0 DC. (I think some users still use Win2K3 and want to migrate.) But unfortunately is failed. To reproduce, (1) Promoto Win2K3R2 Enterprise host to first DC. (2) Join self-built Samba 4.3.0 to the domain. (3) Run 'samba-tool fsmo transfer --role=all' root at jessie64-1:~# samba-tool fsmo

NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED Joining Domain - Desperately need help
I am desperately in need of help. I have a Centos 7.2 server running Samba 4.6.13 as an active directory domain controller. I have firewalld and selinux disabled on both servers, I can ping both ways. From the new server I was able to do a kinit -U

group policy update fails
Hai, Since your getting. finddcs: No matching server found > ERROR: Invalid IP address '3(NXDOMAIN)'! There is something wrong in the base of you setup. Check all DC's for ipnumbers (A) and PTR records. Dont forget to create the reverse zone yourself. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_Troubleshooting

4.05 stable - domain join attempt failing with "NO DNS zone information found in source domain, not replicating DNS", followed by LDAP error 50
I've been trying to join Samba 4.05 stable to an existing Windows 2000 domain but keep getting an LDAP error 50 - LDAP_INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_RIGHTS despite attempting to joining with the Windows administrator account. Problem with SPNEGO on full trust 2016 DC <> Samba 4.10.7 AD
I've read the documentation that domain trusts should be fully supported with both Kerberos and NTLM authentication. I've created a new 2016 domain on a Windows box and created a Samba domain on a Linux box with a BIND9_DLZ backend. Both servers can resolve both DNS domains forwards and backwards and I am able to connect a Windows 10 client to the Samba domain without any issues. The
