[PATCH] xen/balloon: don't set P2M entry for auto translated guest
In commit cd9151e2: xen/balloon: set a mapping for ballooned out pages we have the ballooned out page''s mapping set to a scratch page. That commit also sets the P2M entry of ballooned out page to the scratch page''s MFN. This is necessary for PV guest but not for HVM guest. On the other hand, setting the P2M entry would trigger BUG_ON in __set_phys_to_machine. The correct thing

[PATCH 1/6] xen: balloon: allow PVMMU interfaces to be compiled out
The ARM platform has no concept of PVMMU and therefor no HYPERVISOR_update_va_mapping et al. Allow this code to be compiled out when not required. In some similar situations (e.g. P2M) we have defined dummy functions to avoid this, however I think we can/should draw the line at dummying out actual hypercalls. [RFC 00/14] arm: implement ballooning and privcmd foreign mappings based on x86 PVH
This series implements ballooning for Xen on ARM and builds and Mukesh''s PVH privcmd stuff to implement foreign page mapping on ARM, replacing the old "HACK: initial (very hacky) XENMAPSPACE_gmfn_foreign" patch. The baseline is a bit complex, it is basically Stefano''s xenarm-forlinus branch (commit bbd6eb29214e) merged with Konrad''s linux-next-pvh branch

[PATCH 0/3] xen: more portability patches
Hi Jeremy. Here are the 3 patches for ia64/xen support. The first one is just to move manage.c under drivers/xen. This is trivial. The second and third ones are for compilation fix on ia64. You may want to postpone those 2 patches to make your merge task easy as you said before. thanks, Diffstat arch/x86/xen/Makefile | 2 +- drivers/xen/Makefile | 2 +-

[PATCH 1/7] xen: vNUMA support for PV guests
Defines XENMEM subop hypercall for PV vNUMA enabled guests and data structures that provide vNUMA topology information from per-domain vnuma topology build info. Signed-off-by: Elena Ufimtseva <ufimtseva@gmail.com> --- Changes since RFC v2: - fixed code style; - the memory copying in hypercall happens in one go for arrays; - fixed error codes logic; --- xen/common/domain.c | 10

decrease_reservation() frame still in MPT for non-xlate. Bug?
Hi guys, Looks like the MPT entry still has the pfn after PV dom0 call to decrease_reservation(). Not sure if this is a major bug, but confusing for debugging. For HVM guests, the MPT seems invalidated as side effect of invalidating the p2m. Btw, this in xen 4.1.3-rc1. Thanks, Mukesh

can dom0 modify Shadow PT of HVM domU?
Hi all, Can Xen hypervisor modify HVM domU's Shadow page table, under the dom0's context, like trapped from dom0's hypercall? I think it have to call 2 functions at least: guest_walk_tables() and flush_tlb_all(). Can these 2 functions called in dom0's context? In my test, if hypervisor tries to modify HVM's shadow page table, it will bring down the whole system. I am not

[PATCH] Arch-neutral balloon driver
Attached patch makes the balloon driver arch-neutral (compiles on ia64... look ma, no #ifdef''s!). Please apply to xen-unstable. One change should be eyeballed, line 257 in balloon.c, because phys_to_machine_mapping[pfn] is not identical to pfn_to_mfn (different by sign bit, should be OK?) confused about the balloon code
hi I try to understand the code of balloon ,and got confused about the following parts of code: static int decrease_reservation(unsigned long nr_pages) { .... if (!PageHighMem(page)) { v = phys_to_virt(pfn << PAGE_SHIFT); scrub_pages(v, 1); ret = HYPERVISOR_update_va_mapping( (unsigned long)v, __pte_ma(0), 0);

[PATCH] GSoC 2010 - Memory hotplug support for Xen guests - second fully working version - once again
Hi, I am sending this e-mail once again because it probably has been lost in abyss of Xen-devel/LKLM list. Here is the second version of memory hotplug support for Xen guests patch. This one cleanly applies to git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git repository, xen/memory-hotplug head. Changes: - /sys/devices/system/memory/probe interface has been removed;

Regression in kernel 3.5 as Dom0 regarding PCI Passthrough?!
