Hello, on a Supermicro H8DGU server with the latest BIOS PCI passtrough fails. I tried to give a two igbvf devices to the domU. pciback is configured and everything locks good until igbvf tries to initialize the PCI device. I have the same error with XEN 4.3, 4.3.1 and the current 4.4-unstable, linux kernel 3.12.0, 3.12.1, 3.9. DomU config: kernel = "/boot/gentoo-DomU" memory =

automatically detaching PCI host devices from guest for SRIOV usage.
Dear List , We are using intel 82599EB based SRIOV capable 10GbE cards on the host machine. The VFs are being assigned to the guest in pass through mode and are providing the network connectivity as expected. However when we shutdown the guest the connectivity does not comes back via the VFs on the guest in next boot unless the VFs are detached from the *guest* *before* initiating a shutdown of

[RFC] virtio-net: help live migrate SR-IOV devices
Hi, I'd like to get some feedback on a proposal to enhance virtio-net to ease configuration of a VM and that would enable live migration of passthrough network SR-IOV devices. Today we have SR-IOV network devices (VFs) that can be passed into a VM in order to enable high performance networking direct within the VM. The problem I am trying to address is that this configuration is generally

[PATCH v8] interrupts: allow guest to set/clear MSI-X mask bit
Guest needs the ability to enable and disable MSI-X interrupts by setting the MSI-X control bit, for a passed-through device. Guest is allowed to write MSI-X mask bit only if Xen *thinks* that mask is clear (interrupts enabled). If the mask is set by Xen (interrupts disabled), writes to mask bit by the guest is ignored. Currently, a write to MSI-X mask bit by the guest is silently ignored. A

Issues with Intel HD graphics 4000
Hey, Are there any known issues with the Intel''s integrated HD graphics 4000? I just bought a new laptop and have tried everything I can think of to get Xen to load. After choosing Xen in GRUB, it just boots to a black screen. There is no error message , no dmesg output, nothing. I have no idea what is causing this problem. I''ve gotten Xen to install with no problems on another

Amazon Marketplace AMI
Hi, the updated Amazon Web Service AMI (ami-4ac6653d) has a serious bug. It is not possible to resize a disk after creating a new volume with a size greater than 8GB. resize2fs does nothing. The previous AMI worked perfectly but is no longer available. This bug is a show stopper for using CentOS on AWS. Regards, Thorsten PS: It would also be great to have a CentOS 6 AMI with HVM

Xen with libvirt and SR-IOV
Hi everybody, since long time, I'm using Xen on CentOS with XL, currently latest CentOS 7 with Xen 4.15 from the CentOS-Xen-Project. For several VMs I have to use SR-IOV, to lower the CPU-usage on Dom0 on the host. CentOS 7 comes to an end, Xen is not supported by RHEL nor RockyLinux anymore, so unfortunately I have to switch to KVM. First step will be now, converting all the scripts for

Hello, I am facing the dreaded "Error: cannot allocate vector of size x Gb" and don't understand enough about R (or operating system) memory management to diagnose and solve the problem -- despite studying previous posts and relevant R help -- e.g.: "Error messages beginning cannot allocate vector of size indicate a failure to obtain memory, either because the size exceeded

[PATCH] amd iommu: Dump flags of IO page faults
Hi Jan, Attached patch dumps io page fault flags. The flags show the reason of the fault and tell us if this is an unmapped interrupt fault or a DMA fault. Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone. This does that. Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything.
