kerberos + winbind + AD authentication for samba 4 domain member
Hello,
Thank You for fast response. I'm glad that it's a mistake somewhere on
my side, it means it will work when I fix it :)
Ok, first of all:
Everything is on centos 7.4
All config files will be below, but to start off: behaviour is stranger
than I thought, but there is a pattern:
when doing
[DOMAIN\kacper_wirski at vs-files ~]$ kinit -V
Using default cache: /tmp/krb5cc_101003

Hi
Thanks for the feedback.
I currently have 3 production domains.
- MYDOMAIN.COM is a production Windows 2008 domain used to support MS
Exchange (but not file sharing.)
- TECH - Samba3 "classic" domain with unix domain controllers that
supports most users for authentication and file sharing. The DC
machines are both Samba domains (for Windows clients) and KRB/LDAP

samba 4 member server in WIn 2008 domain, wbinfo fails
I have started tinkering with samba 4.
I have a Windows 2008 active directory domain controller. It is also
the main DNS server but is not the wins server. The DNS server does
NOT allow DNS registration by client machines.
I have a fedora core 19 linux machine with samba 4.1.13 (bundled with
Fedora.)
smb.conf includes

NFSv4 + Kerberos understanding
Hi,
I've a SAMBA4 AD Domain that works nicely. All my W7 joined perfectly
and all my Linux clients authenticates against kerberos part of SAMBA.
All work perfectly, now I'm trying to secure my NFS mounts by using
kerberos part of SAMBA.
My NFS server works and I can mount NFS4 exports without kerberos (and
without problem ;-) ), but when I want to mount a gss/krb5 export on a

How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI?
Hi,
I am doing some kerberos testing with samba4 using ssh. I have setup
samba4 using the howto at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO and
active directory seems to be working both with Windows and Linux clients.
ssh unfortunately is not kerberos authenticating via GSSAPI. The client
krb5.conf contains this:

RPC Server unavailable
We have migrated away from a single MS AD to a 2 server Samba AD.
We have DC1, which is a samba 4.5 server, and DC2, which is a samba 4.2

can't connect to DC1 using Windows RSAT, where I can connect to DC2 without
any problems.
When connecting, an pretty generic error is shown: "The following

Thanks,
Unfortunately, I still got the same error. I may be wrong, but it is
like it does the automatic lookup process of kdc instead of using the
krb5.conf file. However, as per my note below, if I do add bad config
info to the krb5.conf, it does complain.

Samba4 - Cannot contact any KDC for requested realm

I have installed a fileserver with samba4 environment.
This is configured to works as AD-DC even if I only use it as a

All seems to works fine but, every 10 minutes, the log print these messages:

Error changing server IP address: ERROR: Connecting to DNS RPC server
Samba Version 4.12.1
I'm trying to change server IP address from 10.0.0.69 to .3 on a single AD DC running also as fileserver (very small situation). I'm following this [1] guide, I have no interface restrictions in samba or in bind. I stop samba, change IP address, restart bind, start samba, but when I run samba_dnsupdate I get some messages until:

Hi everyone,
unfortunately, I managed to break my Samba AD DC configuration :-( and
would like to ask the experts on this list.
When restarting my Samba AC DC I noticed, that it didn't come up
properly. samba outputs the following lines to /var/log/syslog

Many errors after adding SAMBA 4.1 as 2nd AD in Win 2008 domain
Not even sure where to begin. I've attempted to setup a Ubuntu 14.04 box as a 2nd AD controler in a Windows 2008 domain. The main domain controller is an actual windows machine. Unfortunaly it is an older domain and is a ".local" which I know gives y'all heartburn.
After installign samba, I did not provsion it but ran this: "sudo samba-tool domain join MYDOMAIN.LOCAL DC -U

Samba file server 4.4.4 - trust relationship
Hello experts
I currently have a file server running on CentOS 7. The file server is
joined to the enterprise.com domain (with Samba 4.5).
The enterprise.com domain (with samba 4.5) maintains a trust relationship
with the example.com domain running on windows server 2012R2.
The problem occurs when a user of the example.com (windows server) domain

I am trying to release a server using CentOS 6.8 + Samba4 (Winbind - LDAP
