Sending PATH using SendEnv
Hi
I thought this was something that might concern the developers so I thought I'd post here. Apologies in advance if that's not the case.
I'm setting up a CentOS cluster with OpenSSH_4.3p2 which uses ssh to launch processes on the remote nodes. I'm trying to use the SendEnv/AcceptEnv functionality to send the PATH environment variable from the headnode when users are launching

future of subsystem requests
I was testing the Linux port of 2.1.0p2 and noticed that the F-Secure SSH
client for Windows 4.0 couldn't successfully connect using its secure
file-transfer facility.
The server log reported that authentication was successful, then the log
left off with a semi-cryptic "subsystem request for sftp" line. After
that, nothing.
Poking around the source, I found this little routine in

Multiple AllowGroup lines in sshd_config?
Hi!
I'm experimenting with migrating the custom sshd_config settings for our
(Debian bullseye, openssh-server 8.4) server environment into fragments
under sshd_config.d/, and am wondering about sshd's behaviour when
encountering multiple AllowGroup lines.
The manual states "For each keyword, the first obtained value will be
used.", so that gives me the impression that any

[Patch] Improve portability of regression tests
Hello All.
As promised, here is what I needed to do to get the regression tests to
work on AIX & HPUX. It goes into a bit of detail in the hope that others
might be able to get them running on their platforms. I've run these
mods on AIX 4.3.3, HP-UX 11.00, Solaris 8, Redhat 7.3 and OpenBSD 3.0.
The problems I encountered:
* prereqs (pmake, md5sum)
* bad directory owner/mode causing auth

Provide AcceptEnv variables to a Linux PAM module?
I've been looking for a while and can't figure out for sure if variables
allowed by AcceptEnv are readable by a PAM module. I looked through the
openssh source code and found a few calls to pam_putenv(), which looks
like the relevant call, but I don't see anything that would copy over
AcceptEnv variables. Am I correct that the variables are not available
to PAM? I'm

Samba4 SSH SSSD-AD Problem
Hi,
I'm having a problem with ssh and sssd in a samba4 ad environment.
If I logon a linux client everything works fine. When entering klist I'm able
to see my ticket. When I try to connect/logon to another linux client with ssh
it is possible, but klist shows:
klist: Credentials cache file '/run/user/$UID$/krb5cc/tkt' not found.
So the ticket cache is not created during

[PATCH] don't always call setlocale() on Windows
Windows (MSVC, MinGW) version of setlocale don't care about LC_*
environment variables. For example, flac cannot pass the test for
--until and --skip options the script calls it with --skip=0:01.1001
and it expects decimal comma (--skip=0:01,1001) on my system.
One solution is to write a local version of strtod that always accepts
both decimal comma and decimal point.
Another solution is not

SSHD does not cleanup kerberos ticket while root logins
Hi all,
It looks like a bug for me, but I'd like to ask if someone has the same
problem. We are using OpenSSH 4.3p2 from Debian 4.0 (stable), but the
same problem is with original OpenSSH 4.3p2. When root logins with his
kerberos ticket and then logout, his ticket remains on the machine. I
found in source (sshd.c) in privsep_postauth function, that if root
logins then use_privsep is set to 0

snapshot sftpserver
I'm having some problems with the sftpserver from yesterdays snapshot. It's
working fine on the machine I built it on, but the (supposedly) identical
machines I rdisted it to fails (SGI O2, Irix 6.5.11m).
The client says:
% sftp buskfuru

? about portable version of sshd crashing
I am porting over the portable version of openssh to our uCLinux
implementation. Everything has worked with minimal effort and I appreciate
all the work.
But, I am having a problem whereby the sshd executable is crashing and I
really could use some help on where to look at this in more details.
Here is how I start up the sshd for testing.
/usr/sbin/sshd -D -ddd -f /etc/ssh/sshd_config -p 65
