Question About The Steps
Dear Sir:
Sorry to bother you! I am a graduate student in China, and my team is
currently working on the video card driver. Our target is that the result
we get can be used in some kind of Operating System like linux. As
newers, the biggest problom for us is that the steps to do the work is not
very clear. It will be very kind of you to give us a picture of the
proceeding. We have the

Does the (NV50) dma engine have trouble with "hammering"?
I'm doing some testing/coding on the ng branches and i've run into
some problems, namely that i get PROTECTION_ERRORS after some time. It
seems most common when two two dma's happen very close together on the
same piece of memory (no hard proof to back this up, just something i
noticed). I'm using the dma engine quite heavily and i've pretty much
narrowed it down to that.

preliminary nv50 wfb patch
This patch will only work with Option "EXAPixmaps" "1", and will
prevent classic exa from working.
Occasionally a pixmap fails to map, but that's not related to this patch.
I haven't done any hardcore optimisations, but suggestions are
ofcource appreciated.
In my experience some benchmarks suck now (gtkperf for which had it's
performance halved), and qt4 is

[RFC PATCH 0/2] ASID: Flush by ASID
Future AMD SVM supports a new feature called flush by ASID. The idea is to
allow CPU to flush TLBs associated with the ASID assigned to guest VM. So
hypervisor doesn''t have to reassign a new ASID in order to flush guest''s
VCPU. Please review it.
Thanks,
Wei

Memory use and a few other things
Hello,
First of all thanks a lot for working on this free nvidia driver.
1.) I am using Fedora9-Beta, and on my NV17/64mb (or NV18?) powered
Laptop the nouveau driver uses about 300mb RAM. Is there any way I can
decrease that?
2.) Font rendering is very slow. running "x11perf --aa10text" I only
get 40k glyphs/s.
Is there any way I can improve text performance?
3.) I would like to

GtkPerf: Non linear Add text execution time
Hello everyone,
I am a daily tester of the nouveau driver on my (nVidia Corporation
Quadro NVS 140M (rev a1)).
Today, when trying to make compiz crash, I have tried to execute a lot
of tests at the same time with both 2D and 3D. Well, I didn't bump into
any crashes but I have discovered a really annoying performance issue.
Indeed, the gtkTextView - Add Text of gtkperf has non-linear

Searching the archives - new engine demo
Hi,
I've placed a demo search engine of the asterisk users archive here:
http://asterisk.nextrieve.com/cgi-bin/asterisk
I know there are a number of other ways to search this list that have been
suggested and one person suggested that another wasn't necessary but this
engine will do some things that the others can't. Specifically you can search

[ANNOUNCE] x11perf 1.6.1
x11perf is a standard X11 tool for measuring how many times per second a
given X11 request can be made. It also includes the Xmark script to
calculate how many millions of times faster your 2019 GPU is than the
graphics on a 1989 SPARCstation 1 workstation, if you need more meaningless
numbers in your life.
This is a minor maintainance and bug fix release.

Logging into Windows 2003 Active Directory
I have been searching the net for directions on rhel and centos 5(1) to log in to a windows domain and have found many examples, all different and none work for me.
Is there a hint to some documentation anyone here knows of that actually works?
Thanks!
