Strange behavior from shared namespaces and INBOX, probably a bug
Hi, we have experienced some erratic behavior from Dovecot 2.0.15 if a user's INBOX is shared. Some folders of user1, including the INBOX, have been shared using these IMAP commands: . login user1 XXXXXX . setacl INBOX user2 lrwstiekx . setacl box-a user2 lrwstiekx Now if we use telnet to log in as user2 and select "shared/user1", it will contain the same mails as

A user from a clients' site called early in the morning to inform me that she lost an entire folder on thunderbird with (naturally) important stuff in it. I am trying to find the lost folder, but there is nowhere to be found. Any ideas would greatly appreciated. Regards, Spyros "dovecot -n" :

Mapping a drive letter to a Samba share
Hey guys, I'm in kind of a crunch right now. Due to a poorly written script that I don't have control over, I need to be able to map a drive letter to a Samba share so that it works seamlessly with UNC (i.e \\server\Share <file:///\\server\Share> ). Basically, I need a way for a share name with a $ in it to be recognized as a valid network name. My current setup is like so:

Virtual folder root cannot be opened, virtual folders ok
I am running dovecot 1.2.16 and not able to figure out an error that happens whenever I select the root of a virtual mailbox tree. At the moment I have a simple maildir store, accessed via IMAP, and have successfully added a virtual fs namespace with two subdirectories. I have created dovecot-virtual entries in the subdirs and they are working fine; they show the expected messages, etc. My

mail directory error solved!
Hi, I figured out my issue, in my database query for the mail dir, I was grabbing the home column instead of the mail column. Once I changed the name of the column returned it started working. Currently my queries are like such: password_query = SELECT `passwd` FROM users WHERE userid = '%u' and user_query = SELECT concat('/usr/local/virtual/',maildir, '.INBOX') as

removing uid, index and cache files
Since a couple of days we're facing a problem with dovecot/MUA and multiple appeareances of single mails. The mail is physical existant only once but outlook shows it twice or more times. Then after some minutes these multiple "virtual" mails just disappear. Because this happens with different MUAs (Outlook and Thunderbid) I assume dovecot causes the problem. All mail are received

Path to public folder subscription file not created in 1.1b7?
I use CONTROL=%h/Maildir/dovecot/public/control/[namespace] for each of my public namespaces. A few nights ago, I noticed having a new user subscribe to public folders for the first time will silently fail, becuase the path up to the subscriptions file will not be created. I am pretty sure dovecot used to create it for me, but maybe that changed in a recent version, or maybe I did something to
