Sweave - if \Sexpr{} than \SweaveInput{"my.Rnw"}
Depending on an R computation I would like to include an Sweave documents
in the main Sweave document.
How can I do it?
So I was thinking .... to use Latex features :
\newif\ifpaper
\ifpaper
\SweaveInput{"my1.Rnw"}
\else
\SweaveInput{"my2.Rnw"}
\fi
But how do I set paper to true or false given an \Sexpr ??
\papertrue % or
\paperfalse
Any ideas?
cheers

R CMD check for the R code from vignettes
Hi,
Recently I saw a couple of cases in which the package vignettes were
somewhat complicated so that Stangle() (or knitr::purl() or other
tangling functions) can fail to produce the exact R code that is
executed by the weaving function Sweave() (or knitr::knit(), ...). For
example, this is a valid document that can pass the weaving process
but cannot generate a valid R script to be source()d:

Sweave: R chunk inside caption?
Hi Folks,
I'm surprised, but I didn't find this question addressed anywhere. I'd
like to generate a LaTeX caption with R code. I've tried the code
below, but I get the following TeX error:
! Argument of \@caption has an extra }.
<inserted text>
\par
l.21 }
Any thoughts? Perhaps I'll have to write the "\caption{}" text with R?
thanks!

Sweave, SweaveHooks and printing the label
I would like to print the label of each code chunk, just before printing the
code chunk itself. Is that possible using SweaveHooks, or by some other
mechanism?
Thanks

Problem with large/small numbers in knitr
I have problems with very large numbers using knitr. In the following, my a
and b are extremely small and ssrr and ssru are extremely large. Knitr
delivers error messages. Scaling ssrr and ssru by 1000 resolved the problem:
ssrr <-ssrr/1000 ; ssru<-ssru/1000
Any clue as to how I might resolve the problem?
BTW, the same program does run in another computer. I am wondering whether

Setting inline hook to a function identical to default in knitr turns of exponential formatting
Hello List,
while dealing with a questin of 'xiaodao' (
http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Problem-with-large-small-numbers-in-knitr-tp4653986.html)
I noticed that copying the default inline hook function obtained by
knit_hooks$get("inline")
into a knit_hook$set(inline = <...>) call turns off exponential
fomatting in the resulting .tex file.
I used a stripped version of

Looking for knitr example for beginner (NO RStudio)
Hi everyone,
I am using package knitr, FIRST TIME. I don't have access to RStudio.
Read through Yihui's page, didn't find it helpful. Stuck on terms
Rnw, GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown). Never used Sweave, so the
reference is not helping.
Is there a simple step-by-step example WITHOUT RStudio?
My question:
What is the procedure? The documentation explains the functions, but
does

odfWeave - A loop of the "same" data
Before I go and do this another way - can I check if anyone has a way of looping through data in odfWeave (or possibly sweave) to do a repeating analysis on subsets of data?
For simplicity lets use mtcars dataset in R to explain. Dataset looks like this:
> mtcars
mpg cyl disp hp drat wt ...
Mazda RX4 21.0 6 160 110 3.90 2.62 ...

sweave question
Hi Everyone: I was having trouble getting the plot size correct when
putting a plot in an sweave document. So, I searched on the internet and I
found a clever solution where the person uses
the cat function to write latex code so he can include the cat code in the
chunk and place the plot using width and height. The solution is here:

Ayuda con R Sweave
Gracias por las respuestas
La verdad es qeu estoy trabjando con Rstudio + Knitr, lo unico que en R studio le doy a crear nuevo Sweave, pero is me carga la libreria knitr.
Solucioné el problema que os comenté, era por un fallo tonto, a la hora de poner datos$A, puse dats$A, es decir, le faltaba la o....
Ahora una duda que no se como resolver es la de los gráficos. No consigo reducir su tamaño...

SweaveParseOptions, quoted commas, and knitr vignettes
I haven't figured it out entirely, but it looks like there are a
couple of small glitches with knitr-based vignettes and
SweaveParseOptions.
I posted the tarball of a package with a knitr vignette with (as far
as I can tell) everything properly coded in the DESCRIPTION file
(VignetteBuilder: knitr, Suggests: knitr) and the vignette itself
(%\VignetteEngine{knitr::knitr}). When Windows

Sweave, beamer and alert within code chunks
Hi all,
Using Beamer, in order to highlight a piece of R code I do something
like this - note the "\structure" and "\alert" commands:
\begin{semiverbatim}
> mleOut <- \structure{dlmMLE}(Nile,
+ parm = c(0.2, 120), # initial values for optimizer
+ lower = c(1e-7, 0)) \alert<2>{# V must be positive}

knitr customization
I am trying to transition from Sweave to knitr, but there are a few
things about customization of the appearence of R input and output that
I did not get yet. Maybe somebody on the list can help me.
In my Sweave presentations I used a slanted font for the R input and a
normal font for the output, both in a small font. I also indented
everything by an extra 2em. All this was achieved by the

googleVis plot and knitr/sweave
Dear R users.
I'm currently making a report with knitr (RStudio) where I would like to
plot a googleVis map. However, the map generated is an HTML file which I
don't know how to integrate it in my report.
So my question is how to include a map generated with googleVis in a PDF
created with knitr/sweave.

a rounding option for \Sexpr{}?
Hi all,
Currently Sweave does not format the (especially numeric) value in
\Sexpr{}, and I often have to round() the numbers explicitly,
otherwise I will get more than 10 digits, which is not necessary for
me in most cases. Is there a way to specify the number of digits to be
kept for values in \Sexpr{}? e.g. can we make \Sexpr{} respect
getOption('digits')?
Thanks!

Yihui

cacheSweave questions (usage and forward compatibility)
Hello all,
I would like to ask several questions regarding cacheSweave:
1) Is there a way to set "cache=true" globally? (I tried it
using \SweaveOpts but it didn't seem to work)
2) Is there a way to "flush" specific cache once it is created? (other
then erasing the entire cache directory)? Changing the code in the code
chunk seems to do it, but I am not sure to what

How do Sweave users collaborate with Word users?
Hello All,
I'm getting my workflow switched over to Sweave, which is very cool.
However, I collaborate with folks (as many of you must as well) who use
Word to Track Changes amongst a group while crafting a paper. In the
simplest case, there will just be two people (one Sweave user and one
Word user) editing a paper.
I'm wondering, how do Sweave users go about this? I could convert a

UTF8 markdown vignette
A few things to clarify:
1. You do not necessarily have to keep the \usepackage{} line if you
use %\VignetteEncoding{UTF-8}, because Pandoc will use UTF-8 anyway in
its LaTeX template.
2. Perhaps the vignette engine in R has done something clever to
convert utf8 to UTF-8, but I'd recommend %\VignetteEncoding{UTF-8}
instead of %\VignetteEncoding{utf8} to make sure it is a valid
encoding name,

Making Knitr work
Might not be the best place to ask, but i could get lucky..
I have setup an eclipse environment to write sweave files lately and wanted to switch to knitr. I could get it to work on easy files, but my earlier written sweave file fails to be knit properly.
Here is the error message:
