Good book on Linux Admin (Centos 5.5)
My Admin books are out of date, so I need a new one that contains info about the Linux as in Centos 5.5. I am a "Sunday user"; not one earning a living as an Admin. Recommendations welcomed.... Todd P.S. Current book is "Linux System Administration, Second Edition", by Vicki Stanfield and Roderick W. Smith (Sybex) -- Ariste Software Petaluma, CA 94952

Two Linux books I recommend
I would like to recommend two (2) Linux books that might be helpful to some of the people reading this mailing list: (1) "Red Hat Fedora and Enterprise Linux Bible", by Christopher Negus. Published by Wiley. Buy the edition for the version of CentOS you are using. This book is very easy to read and is probably best for Beginning to Intermediate users. This is the book I reach for

hypercall implementation
I am learning xen's memory management recently. I find most docs is how to use the hypercall related memory management. Can somesome tell me where is the implementation of the them in the xen source. Or some docs explaining it will be ideal. 年少不惧江湖老,放歌四海任逍遥。未解前路多少事,欲与青天试比高。 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xen.org

Printing - "lprm command" not getting executed
I am attempting to get printing services for Windows 2000 clients working with Samba on a Red Hat 7.2 box. The problem is I can not cancel print jobs (either from a PC or the local smb client). File sharing, and printing other than this problem, work fine. Here is a listing of configuration and system info: 1) the samba packages installed, 2) output of "uname -a", 3) the

Large Files Support
I'm having problems with large files access from a Linux system to a Windows 2000 share. The Linux system is Redhat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.7-10zm, smbd is 2.2.1a. I have verified that this release of Linux does support files larger than 2GB. I have created a file 2,752,512,000 bytes in size and can copy, mv, etc., it locally with no problem. If I try to copy it to the windows share it errors

upgrade samba
How does one move from a rpm based samba to tar.gz? In other words how do I upgrade from samba-2.2.1a-4 to samba-2.2.6.tar.gz. Do I remove samba : rpm -e samba? And what do I do with the other samba rpm packages: samba-client-2.2.1a-4 & samba-common-2.2.1a-4? Are they included with the tar package? Using RH7.2. Samba 2.2.1a - ls inconsistancies.
I am running Red Hat 7.2 and using smbmount to mount a PC share from a NT4 SP5 Workstation. I have a folder, in this share, of around 300 files and when I do ls -l I get inconsistencies. Sometimes files are missing, and if I keep repeating the command the files are then appear again. Other times the size information is wrong. No one else is using, or changing, any of the files on the source
