[PATCH v2 02/03] HVM firmware passthrough libxl support
This patch introduces support for two new parameters in libxl:
smbios_firmware=<path_to_smbios_structures_file>
acpi_firmware=<path_to_acpi_tables_file>
The changes are primarily in the domain building code where the firmware files
are read and passed to libxc for loading into the new guest. After the domain
building call to libxc, the addresses for the loaded blobs are returned and

[PATCH 0/3] SMBIOS table passthrough support
SMBIOS table pass-through is useful in supporting vendor/OEM specific functionality in HVM guests. There are numerous OEM software packages and drivers that depend on having certain SMBIOS tables surfaced in a guest for their proper functioning. This also includes drivers and software needed for device pass-through. This series of patches introduces support for SMBIOS pass-through in the

[PATCH v4 03/04] HVM firmware passthrough SMBIOS processing
Passthrough support for the SMBIOS structures including three new DMTF defined
types and support for OEM defined tables. Passed in SMBIOS types override the
default internal values. Default values can be enabled for the new type 22
portable battery using a xenstore flag. All other new DMTF defined and OEM
structures will only be added to the SMBIOS table if passthrough values are
present.

[PATCH] Included reserved memory regions in dom0 iommu mappings
This adds a boolean boot parameter to xen to allow reserved memory
regions to be added to the iommu mappings for dom0. The parameter
is "iommu_include_reserved" and is off by default. A warning is
also traced when incorrect RMRR to system memory map values are
detected. This is being added to address some incorrect BIOS''s that
do not report correctly the requied reserved memory

VM creation failure using passthrough with latest unstable
I have pulled a recent (today''s) clone of staging/xen-unstable.hg and I
get a failure when trying to create a domain with xend/xm. The failure I
get is:
Error: (''<domain GUID>'', ''VM_metrics'')
I have traced the problem down to where the pci = [ ''02:00.0'' ]
parameter (which is the value in my case) from my configuration

Building a http query string including SMBIOS Serial Number to load a specific kernel
Hello folks,
There is a way to get the system serial number from SMBIOS and pass it
as HTTP query string to get the kernel and initrd?
Something like this:
LABEL OS Download
MENU LABEL Clonezilla
MENU INDENT 1
KERNEL http://192.168.10.10/kernel.php?type=kernel (
http://myserver/kernel.php?SN=SMBIOS_SERIAL_NUMBER&type=kernel
)&SN=SMBIOS_SERIAL_NUMBER

Question for smbios
I am reposting this because it's been 2 or 3 weeks.
Hello,
Hopefully this is the right place to send a question like this...
I'm attempting to automate creation of VMs using virt-install and a
cloud-init disk image. To get this to work, I need to specify the location
of the cloud-init configs by passing smbios key/value pairs.
Normally, -smbios is provided to qemu to do this. With

[PATCH] HVM SMBIOS v2 0/5
The following patches are a cleaned up version of the HVM SMBIOS
patches I submitted last Friday.
Differences include
(1) SMBIOS is no longer optional for HVM domU''s.
(2) The refactoring I did of hvmloader wasn''t really necessary, so I
got rid of it.
(3) The patches have been tested on changeset

(4) The versions of strcpy() and

For some reason, half of the patches I posted on Friday for HVM SMBIOS
support haven''t shown up yet.
I''m going to try to post a version of them reworked for changeset

in a few moments, so please ignore the previous posts.

problem with smbios 2.13?
Hello,
I''m using the latest b75 ISO to try and get a solaris dom0 running on my
laptop, a Sony SZ-330P. The Xen LiveCD works just fine, so I know that
theoretically it should work. Build 75 also works just fine on my Sony,
including sound and video, etc.
But when I try and boot the Xen kernel, the system hangs. There''s no
panic printed to console. If I pass a -v option at

[PATCH v4 02/04] HVM firmware passthrough control tools support
Xen control tools support for loading the firmware passthrough blocks during
domain construction. SMBIOS and ACPI blocks are passed in using the new
xc_hvm_build_args structure. Each block is read and loaded into the new domain
address space behind the HVMLOADER image. The base address for the two blocks
is returned as an out parameter to the caller via the args structure.

Samba 2.0.5a and smbmount password
Hi,
The new smbmount that comes with Samba 2.0.5a doesn't seem to recognize
the '-P' command line option.
This means that I cannot automatically mount shares from a script, as I
need to manually enter the password for each mount.
This used to work with the older smbmount, and also with the newer
'smbmount -c ...'.
Is this (passing a password on the command line) not supported

XCI: can we get to the demo state?
Hello XCI developers,
I have a HP6930, downloaded xenclient from the git. And by following the instruction in HOWTO, I could get xenclient boot up fine. I try then to start a guest using xenvm.readme as template and nothing shows on the screen for the guest, although xenops shows 2 doms running.
Can you point me to how to start a guest. And also, is the tree downloaded from git enough to arrive
