Bug in dovecot 1.2 dict
Hi Timo, Hi *, in 1.2 the dict server (tested with sqlite backend) is somewhat broken. It bails out regularly with "Fatal: dict: Socket already exists: ..." (looks like a race condition as it doesn't fail always). We discovered that this new code in dict-server.c seems to be the problem: server->fd = net_listen_unix_unlink_stale(path, 64); if (server->fd == -1) { if

URLAUTH assertion failures in 2.2.1
Testing URLAUTH in dovecot-2.2.1 plus Timo's recent CATENATE and URLAUTH fixes eventually trips some assertions. No simple sequence of commands always hits these; they appear to be timing-dependent. The first one is: May 02 17:47:17 imap(pid 50490 user submit): Panic: file imap-client.c: line 643 (client_command_free): assertion failed: (client->output_cmd_lock == NULL) The line number

Patch: 2.0 support for URLAUTH, BURL, CATENATE
Thank you Timo for beginning the port of URLAUTH, BURL, and CATENATE from 1.2 to 2.0. Attached please find two patches that finish the port to 2.0. One patch updates the dovecot-2.0-urlauth branch and is based on the tip of that branch. The other patch adds the full support to dovecot-2.0.beta5. The resulting URLAUTH/BURL/CATENATE code is the same. Please let me know if you have any questions

what's wrong with this config file?
Hi. I'm setting up a new IMAPS server. Mail users don't have login access to the box but will each have unique UNIX-style UIDs: no back-end database or LDAP thing. So far. Their mail will get delivered to UNIX-style mailboxes in /var/mail/%u (where %u is the UNIX username obviously). Their IMAP folders will go in /var/imap/%u. These will contain subfolders once everyone migrates to the new

immediate delete of mails
Hello all! I've got a home server running on an ARM Cortex-A7 with my custom Linux distribution. It's also responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mails. The SMTP server is OpenSMTPD-6.0.3p1. I'm using Dovecot-2.3.2.1 to export the mails (mailbox storage format) using IMAP. My old server used to have Dovecot-1.2.0 and honestly, it was absolutely sufficient for me. However,

Btrfs RAID-10 performance
Here's a few tips: 1. I assume that's a 2U format -24 bays.?You only have 1 raid card for all 24 disks ? Granted you only have 16, but usually you should assign 1 card per 8 drives. In our standard 2U chassis we have 3 hba's per 8 drives. Your backplane should support that. 2. Add more drives 3. Get a pci nvme ssd card and move the indexes/control/sieve files there.? On Monday,

Postfix - dovecot-lda -> Permission denied
Hi erveryone! I'm trying to run Postix and Dovecot on a Mac OS X, but somehow, it doesn't work. I probably messed up the privileges or something else. Hopefully someone of you, can help me figure it out. So far, Postfix is delivering the mail into ~/Maildir. But as soon as I add the line: mailbox_command = /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda in
