[Bridge] bride: IPv6 multicast snooping enhancements
Hi,
Here are two, small feature changes I would like to submit to increase
the usefulness of the multicast snooping of the bridge code.
The first patch is an unaltered one I had submitted before, but since it
got no feedback I'm resubmitting it here for net-next. With the recently
added patch to disable snooping if there is no querier (b00589af + 248ba8ec05
+ 8d50af4fb), it should be a safe

[Bridge] [PATCH] bridge: Bug fix for incorrect interpretation of MLDv2 maximum response code
This patch fixes the incorrect interpretation of endianness of MLDv2 maximum response
code within bridge's multicast snooping code.

[Bridge] [PATCH v10 net-next 00/12] VLAN filtering/VLAN aware bridge
Changes since v9:
* series re-ordering so make functionality more distinct. Basic vlan
filtering is patches 1-4. Support for PVID/untagged vlans is patches
5 and 6. VLAN support for FDB/MDB is patches 7-11. Patch 12 is
still additional egress policy.
* Slight simplification to code that extracts the VID from skb. Since we
now depend on the vlan module, at the time of input skb_tci is

[Bridge] VLAN-aware multicast querier after if link up
Hi Nikolay,
I'd like your input on an issue I'm running into at the moment.
I setup a bridge to do multicast querying for some vid. This then does
not work for ports that come up later. It works only for those ports
that were already up when I set the global vlan options.
Debugging through the kernel I can see that the timers are simply never
started. Unless I disable and re-enable

"dst cache overflow" messages and crash
Hi,
I regularly have errors (kernel: dst cache overflow) and crash of a
firewall under Linux 2.6.17 and the route patch from Julian Anastasov.
With rtstat I see that the route cache size increases regularly without
never decreasing.
I have this parameters:
fw:/proc/sys/net/ipv4/route# grep . *
error_burst:1250
error_cost:250
gc_elasticity:15
gc_interval:60

[Bridge] [Patch net] bridge: do not expire mdb entry when bridge still uses it
From: Cong Wang <amwang at redhat.com>
This is a long-standing bug and reported several times:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=880035
http://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=136164389416341&w=2
This bug can be observed in virt environment, when a KVM guest
communicates with the host via multicast. After some time (should
be 260 sec, I didn't measure), the multicast

[Bridge] [PATCH net-next V5 00/14] Add basic VLAN support to bridges
This series of patches provides an ability to add VLANs to the bridge
ports. This is similar to what can be found in most switches. The bridge
port may have any number of VLANs added to it including vlan 0 priority tagged
traffic. When vlans are added to the port, only traffic tagged with particular
vlan will forwarded over this port. Additionally, vlan ids are added to FDB
entries and become

two internet connections + filter?
Hello,
I hope i wont make it too complicated and sorry for my englihs...

and i only want to use two for load balancing for now. I have read the HOWTO
and i got it up and working it works great but i still have a few questions
if anyone could help!

dst cache overflow (bridged wan interfaces)
I recompiled yet 2.6.19.1 kernel (using iptables with the same patches too).
The configuration for this test is:
1) linux box with 2.6.19.1 kernel (SMP machine) with these
patches/modules:
a) l7-filter
b) ipp2p
c) connlimit
d) set
2) 4 ethernet interfaces:
a) 2 external (eth1 and eth3) interfaces with balanced links (as
described in nato-howto) bridged as wan0

KVM networking issue
Thanks, Mike. When running tcpdump on the VM I'm not seeing traffic
unless it's explicitly intended for that particular VM, so no traffic
between the other VMs is getting forwarded from the virtual interface
to the "network appliance" VM.
There is connectivity between the VMs on the private network and the
"network appliance" VM which is acting as a gateway.

Load balancing and routing tables
Dear all,
First please excuse me for my very bad english.
I''m curently setting up a gateway (linux 2.6.7) with load balancing (
multipath ).
I access them from lan and my external interfaces are NATed.
I''m used iproute2 as described in the LARTC and nano howto.
My problem is that connections are well balanced but often, long
connection
are break because the default route

KVM networking issue
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info. I'd rather run monitoring such as tcpdump from
the VM if possible and not the host as a simulation of a network
appliance and with the intent eventually of giving others access to
the VM and not the host. Here is the xml file for the private network:

[Bridge] [RFC PATCH net-next 0/5] Add layer 2 miss indication and filtering
tl;dr
=====
This patchset adds a single bit to the skb to indicate that a packet
encountered a layer 2 miss in the bridge and extends flower to match on
this metadata. This is required for non-DF (Designated Forwarder)
filtering in EVPN multi-homing which prevents decapsulated BUM packets
from being forwarded multiple times to the same multi-homed host.
