Debugging Windows 10 Guest Flakiness
Hello, I'm not sure if I'm asking this question in the right place, so please redirect me if there's a better list. I recently set up a Windows 10 guest on an Arch Linux host with libvirt and KVM/Qemu, using IOMMU to enable GPU passthrough. I followed this guide to set up the VM: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PCI_passthrough_via_OVMF The problem that I'm having is

Problem with secondary sata controller
I am having problems getting my 64-bit Debian Squeeze (Xen version 4.0, Linux Kernel 2.6.32) dom0 to recognize a harddrive connected to a secondary sata controller. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 and has two sata controllers. The first is controlled by an Intel X79 chipset and the second is controlled by a Marvell 88SE9172 chip. During the initial install of Debian everything is fine and

AHCI and VT-d related problem
Hello, I have an issue with my XEN system. I suspect that it might be a bug, but I''m no linux expert, so I don''t know. Here is my problem: I have an ASUS P7P55D-E Premium motherboard, and a Western Digital Caviar Black SATA-III 1TB hdd. I am trying to use AHCI. The dom0 is an Arch Linux. The dom0 boots fine until Intel VT-d is enabled in the BIOS. When I enable it Arch

Centos 5.3, no AHCI on HP DL320 G5p?
I have one HP Proliant DL320 G5p, where for some reason, the AHCI mode is not enabled. According to server specs, it should have AHCI/NCQ capability, but ata_piix module gets loaded during bootup, not ahci module. Any ideas how to enable AHCI mode? lspci output: # lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 3200/3210 Chipset DRAM Controller (rev 01) 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation

vpmu=1 and running 'perf top' within a PVHVM guest eventually hangs dom0 and hypervisor has stuck vCPUS. Romley-EP (model=45, stepping=2)
This issue I am encountering seems to only happen on multi-socket machines. It also does not help that the only multi-socket box I have is an Romley-EP (so two socket SandyBridge CPUs). The other SandyBridge boxes I''ve (one socket) are not showing this. Granted they are also a different model (42). The problem is that when I run ''perf top'' within an SMP PVHVM guest,

a Question regarding glm for linear regression
Hello All, I have a question about glm in R. I would like to fit a model with glm function, I have a vector y (size n) which is my response variable and I have matrix X which is by size (n*f) where f is the number of features or columns. I have about 80 features, and when I fit a model using the following formula,? glmfit = glm(y ~ x1 + x2 + x3 + x4 + x5 + x6 + x7 + x8 + x9 + x10 + x11 + x12 + x13

CentOS 7 1708 won't boot after grub2 update
00:1f.2 SATA controller: Intel Corporation C600/X79 series chipset 6-Port SATA AHCI Controller (rev 06) While I don?t have experience with this exact controller, I have seen some LSI controllers get removed from RHEL post GA which causes similar issues. ?It worked when I installed, but after `yum update` my box doesn?t boot.? Bug#797205: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64: Xen live migration dom0 memory swap
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64 Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1 Severity: important I already posted this on the xen-devel-mailinglist but no one seems to have an answer. I'm posting it here because perhaps someone using Debian and Virtualization might have an idea about this? Since Debian 8 I observe that live migrating a PVM on XEN 4.4.1 (also 4.5.1) and Linux Kernel 4.1.0 (also 3.18) requires

antispam-plugin 1.2 and trailing carriage-returns
Guys, Dovecot 1.0.15 [1], just built the latest antispam-plugin 1.2 (tarball) for testing, mailtrain backend for SA integration. Both built from custom spec files. The mail that is being trained is different than its respective source in the mbox file. The trained one shows added, trailing carriage-return chars for all headers, which are not in the headers in the mbox file. This breaks sa-learn

Inbox inside the mail location
I recently had some scary experience with the Inbox being stored in the default /var/mail dir, and I believe it would be a better idea to keep the Inbox next to any other mail in the users $HOME. mail_location = mbox:~/.mail:INBOX=~/.mail/INBOX This is what I used for a quick test, and actually would love to use in production soon. Based on the test, it just does exactly what I want. :)

CentOS 7 1708 won't boot after grub2 update
Hi all, This is the third fresh install of CentOS 7 1708 the last two months that won't boot after a regular "yum update" just after the fresh install has finished. I've never had this problem before, it has just worked. The installs are on OEM's that have previously run CentOS 6.9 x64. Am I missing something here? -- BW, Sorin

thread taskq / unp_gc() using 100% cpu and stalling unix socket IPC
Hi there We have a pair of servers running FreeBSD 9.1-RC3 that act as transparent layer 7 loadbalancer (relayd) and pop/imap proxy (dovecot). Only one of them is active at a given time, it's a failover setup. From time to time the active one gets in a state in which the 'thread taskq' thread uses up 100% of one cpu on its own, like here: ---- PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE
