Bug report: "doveadm rename" encodes special characters wrongly in mUTF-7 (in fs)
Hello there,
I'm pretty sure I found a bug in latest Dovecot 2.2.5.5 (EE) when playing with the doveadm command.
Naturally renaming a users mail folder should be done via "doveadm es consistent.
So when using "doveadm rename" trying to rename a folder with special characters e.g. german umlauts like "??" it seems to create the folder wrongly in the filesystem.

Migrating from dovecot 2.1 to 2.2
Due to the incompatibilities with the dsync protocol version between 2.1
and 2.2, I am unable to use dsync to move users to a new machine where
we have 2.2.5 setup. This wouldn't normally be a problem, as I could
just rsync the user's mdbox and dovecot would happily do the right
thing. However, on the new system I've placed the indexes into a faster
storage medium, where on the older

Centos 6.4 - yum update gives: Error: kernel conflicts with bfa-firmware
On trying a yum update I get the following error:
Error: kernel conflicts with bfa-firmware
yum suggests I work around the problem with --skip-broken or try running
'rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest'
Is there an accepted process for resolving this?

Asterisk 11 security log, fail2ban, drive-by SIP attacks
Just a note that I did a little work to extend FreePBX distro with some
extra Fail2Ban which deals with some drive-by SIP registration attempts.
My regex is poor to middling, but the steps detailed here:
http://www.coochey.net/?p=61 manage to stop IPs which try to
authenticate against Asterisk which FreePBX were not able to stop before.
I would welcome any improvements anyone would care to

sedwards@sedwards.com causes me to be knocked off the list
Someone on this list uses the address @sedwards.com
I doubt this is their actual email address as there is no MX record for
sedwards.com and I can't find registration for their domain either.
Part of my mail servers reject these emails because they cannot be
replied to, or are likely to be spam.
Every so often I get a mail from the list management to say that I've
been unsubscribed

Setting up softflowd - set promiscuous or not?
Hi List,
I''m in the process of setting up softflowd 0.9.9 on a Centos 6.4 system
(compiled from source tarball).
The daemon will listen to an unused interface that is receiving port
mirrored traffic (a.la. Span port)
I am planning on using the softflowd init script and sysconfig file
provided in the tar ball.
Do I need to manually put the unused interface into promiscuous mode, or

Sieve vacation reply problem (Dovecot+Sieve/Sendmail/Horde)
Hello Dovecot community,
I have an annoying problem with successfully activating Sieve vacation replies - on which I have been working hard the last days without success :(
I'm using Dovecot 2.2 + Sendmail + Sieve connected with Horde web-mailer IMP H3 which is generally working fine.
BUT: Whenever I activate vacation script in Horde (via Ingo) and send a test-mail to this account, the mail

Extracting mbox format from Dovecot IMAP (mdbox)
Hi,
I'm looking for a quick tool that can connect to my IMAP account grab
all the messages in a particular folder and dump them to a mbox format file?
Anyone know a quick easy tool to do that?
This is a spam folder that I'd like to do some Bayes spam learning on,
but since I've migrated to mdbox I don't think I can do this directly on
the mailbox.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Package integrity check via SHA256 or OpenPGP possible?
Dear list,
I'm using R in a corporate environment and was interested how R checks integrity of packages during an installation.
I saw (and verified my suspicion in the code[1]) that the verification purely relies on MD5.
>From an IT security perspective, this can be improved.
My question is: Is is possible to force R to verify integrity via SHA256 or even OpenPGP signatures?
If not are

BUG report: doveadm HEADER <field> <pattern> when concatenating with another Search key
Hey there,
I'm pretty sure I've found a bug with doveadm when concatenating with
another search key.
While doveadm HEADER <field pattern> works fine when not using additional
search keys, it doesn't work properly when concatenating with other
serarch keys - it then simply seems to ignore the additional HEADER <field
pattern> search key.
It's reproduceable, also

Sendmail and Dovecot deliver (dovecot-lda)
Hi,
I have a Centos 5 system with sendmail running as my MTA.
Normally I note from sendmail logs that mails get delivered using the
'local' mailer.
I have therefore entered the following into my sendmail.mc file, from an
earlier post on this list:
define(`LOCAL_MAILER_PATH',`/usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver')
define(`LOCAL_MAILER_FLAGS',`DFMPhfnu9')

Problems with samba AD
Hi there,
?
I'm currently trying samba 4 as an Active Directory Domain Controller on a Debian Jessie server. I don't find a solution to two problems, maybe somebody can help me.
?
First on I can't get anaonymous login (Guest) working. I'm able to log on account nobody by using smbclient, but when trying to logon from a Windows 7 or 8 client, authentification is not working.

My firmware seems to be more up to date. Anyway, I will try to update
firmware. I have to check how to do that.

Ultrabook for CentOS?
Hello,
I need to buy an ultrabook. Any recommendations for something that
would work out of the box more or less?
I do not want a Chromebook (or anything ARM) or one of these new
"touch" laptops, in fact I'm after a nice matte screen. Budget is
modest-ish (?500/$800) so dont go crazy. :)
Thanks!

convert webpage to image
What is the easiest way to convert a webpage into a jpg
or png file? I've seen several programs that can do
various conversions, but nothing open source that can
do it in a single conversion.
Just wondering if anyone on the list has suggestions
for something I can put into a script to convert a
webpage into a file I can use with my screensaver.
