[PATCH v3] xen/console: buffer and show origin of guest PV writes
Guests other than domain 0 using the console output have previously been controlled by the VERBOSE #define, but with no designation of which guest''s output was on the console. This patch converts the HVM output buffering to be used by all domains except the hardware domain (dom0): stripping non-printable characters, line buffering the output, and prefixing it with the domain ID. This is

Unexpected b_hdr change.
Hi. We''re testing the most recent ZFS version from OpenSolaris ported to FreeBSD. Kris (CCed) observed strange situation. In function arc_read() he had a panic on assertion that we try to unlock a lock which is not beeing held: rw_enter(&pbuf->b_hdr->b_datalock, RW_READER); err = arc_read_nolock(pio, spa, bp, done, private, priority, flags, arc_flags, zb);

[PATCH 00/11] Add virtual EPT support Xen.
From: Zhang Xiantao <xiantao.zhang@intel.com> With virtual EPT support, L1 hyerpvisor can use EPT hardware for L2 guest''s memory virtualization. In this way, L2 guest''s performance can be improved sharply. According to our testing, some benchmarks can show > 5x performance gain. dvd dma problems
I have a couple of DVD drives (one drive, one burner) that used to play DVDs quite fine from 5.3 to somewhere in the 6.x branch. Nowadays I have to send them to PIO4 to play DVDs, because they'll just throw DMA not aligned errors around in UDMA33 or WDMA2 mode. Should someone be interested in this I'm willing to supply all necessary information, such as the exact drives, firmware

[PATCH RFC v13 00/20] Introduce PVH domU support
This patch series is a reworking of a series developed by Mukesh Rathor at Oracle. The entirety of the design and development was done by him; I have only reworked, reorganized, and simplified things in a way that I think makes more sense. The vast majority of the credit for this effort therefore goes to him. This version is labelled v13 because it is based on his most recent series, v11.

[PATCH] x86/hvm: fix corrupt ACPI PM-Timer during live migration
The value of ACPI PM-Timer may be broken on save unless the timer mode is delay_for_missed_ticks. With other timer modes, vcpu->arch.hvm_vcpu.guest_time is always zero and the adjustment from its value is wrong. This patch fixes the saved value of ACPI PM-Timer: - don''t adjust the PM-Timer if vcpu->arch.hvm_vcpu.guest_time is zero. - consolidate calculations of PM-Timer to one

Unraveling a FAR*
Hi all, Just looking over fole_s_connect() in win32ole.c and I noticed this bit: hr = CLSIDFromProgID(pBuf, &clsid); ... hr = GetActiveObject(&clsid, 0, &pUnknown); ... hr = pUnknown->lpVtbl->QueryInterface( pUnknown, &IID_IDispatch, (void **)&pDispatch ); Using win32-api, that would be something like: IID_IUnknown =

[PATCH][XEN] p2m cleanup: remove unused function
Hi! Attached patch removes gfn_to_mfn_current(). It is redundant and effectively unused. All remaining users now use proper replacement function. => No functional change. While here, silence stdvga and use page_mode_hap() consequently. [PATCH] x86/hap: fix race condition between ENABLE_LOGDIRTY and track_dirty_vram hypercall
There is a race condition between XEN_DOMCTL_SHADOW_OP_ENABLE_LOGDIRTY and HVMOP_track_dirty_vram hypercall. Although HVMOP_track_dirty_vram is called many times from qemu-dm which is connected via VNC, XEN_DOMCTL_SHADOW_OP_ENABLE_LOGDIRTY is called only once from a migration process (e.g. xc_save, libxl-save-helper). So the race seldom happens, but the following cases are possible.

[PATCH 1/1] keep iommu disabled until iommu_setup is called
The iommu is enabled by default when xen is booting and later disabled in iommu_setup() when no iommu is present. But under some circumstances iommu-code can be called before iommu_setup() is processed. If there is no iommu available xen crashes. This can happen for example when panic(...) is called that got introduced with patch "x86-64: detect processors subject to AMD erratum #121 and

[PATCH] hvm: reset TSC to 0 after domain resume from S3
Host S3 implicitly resets the host TSC to 0, but the tsc offset for hvm domains is not recalculated when they resume, causing it to go into negative values. In Linux guest using tsc clocksource, this results in a hang after wrap back to positive values since the tsc clocksource implementation expects it reset. revert commit e4fd0475 ("hvmloader: always include HPET table")
Windows SVVP tests requiring a HPET ACPI table is in my opinion not a valid reason to always expose that table - respective tests should be run with "hpet=1" in the guest config file. The problem here is that at least with qemu-traditional, which by default doesn''t appear to emulate a HPET, the advertising here can mislead an OS to believe that there actually is a usable HPET,

[PATCH] bug-fixes to hvc-xen driver in v3.4 (and earlier).
Three of the patches could be squashed in one, but it makes more sense to review them as three. These patches fix the case of an PVHVM guest not being able to resume propely b/c of hitting: 142 BUG_ON(info->type != IRQT_UNBOUND && info->type != type); (in events.c) and also adds a WARN to catch situations like these. The reason for this is that the Xen python toolstack

[PATCH 0 of 3] RFC Paging support for AMD NPT V2
There has been some progress, but still no joy. Definitely not intended for inclusion at this point. Tim, Wei, I added a Xen command line toggle to disable IOMMU and P2M table sharing. Tim, I verified that changes to p2m-pt.c don''t break shadow mode (64bit hypervisor and Win 7 guest). Hongkaixing, I incorporated your suggestion in patch 2, so I should add your Signed-off-by eventually.
