Donations to Xiph
I have a few thoughs and questions about donating to Xiph that I hop you have a minute for. Here we go: == "Who donated what" list == As it seems we don't have a "Who donated what" list. I thought creating such a list could increase motivation to donate to some parties. What I currently have in mind would be to start listing donations from now on below the current content

centos friends?
Hello All, I want to ask about CentOS and money. Please do not start some kind of shitstorm over this, it isn't productive. I have just been looking at archive.org to see when the paypal option went missing from the donate menu at centos.org. I can't pin it down, but it was there on October 16, 2010 and isn't now, so that's the information I have on that point. There was a

Killing runaway PBX
How do I stop asterisk when it is in a bad mood? It keeps dialing extensions and won't listen! I tried kill <PID>. No go. I don't want to have to reboot again. Thanks. Jim Friedeck P.S. I love it when my boss looks over my shoulder and I don't have an answer when he says: 'So, what are you doing?'

Neosurge.com
All, I would like to thank the latest donor to the CentOS project: Neosurge.com. We have a nice new, shiny server to help get all those updates out faster. http://www.neosurge.com/ Neosurge has plenty of hosting options from normal website hosting to dedicated / co-located servers. And I can vouch for the speed of the traffic into the datacenters. You can definitely get CentOS pre-installed

R Founding
A few days ago Tal Galili posted a message about some controversies concerning the future of R. Having read the discussions, especially those following Ross Ihaka's post, I have come to the conclusion, that, as usual, the problem is money. I doubt there would be discussions about dropping R in its present form if the R-Foundation were properly funded and could hire computer scientists,

Rails is the devil on your client-side shoulder
Hi Everyone, Sorry for the inflamatory title, just trying to get your attention. Ive been thinking alot about the JavaScript helpers and I''ve written my thoughts on my companies blog if any of you are interested: http://www.vivabit.com/bollocks/2006/02/09/rails-is-the-devil-in-your-client-side-shoulder I know people have brought this up a number of times but I really think it needs

more obvious contribution mechanism?
can we put a "how to donate money to R" on the R webpage? perhaps with a paypal button? even better, because I would like to donate some funds from my research budget, could the R-project possibly sell some trinkets for a high price for support? it is difficult to explain to a non-profit org (like yale) why i want to donate its money to another non-profit org. they would be

voip-info.org unreliable lately?
Anyone have any insight as to why voip-info.org has been up and down all day, and more importantly unreliable for the last month? I assume the bandwidth is being donated or something, but surely someone would be willing to donate reliable bandwidth as the knowledge hosted on the site (which is also donated!) is worth way more than the bandwidth. There is no doubt it is the best

[LLVMdev] Colocation Facility for LLVM?
Hi all, I don't have very high hopes, but does anyone happen to have available some kind of colocation services in the Bay Area that they could donate to LLVM? I would really like to establish a proper LLVM lab somewhere instead of relying on hardware which is residing at various companies. I would be willing to personally donate some hardware, but don't have any place to put it. My

Setting up some sort of tax-exempt organization (similar to the FSF) may be useful here. I don't mind chipping in my £1 worth, but getting a tax deduction at the same time would persuade more people to donate, I think.

[LLVMdev] Colocation Facility for LLVM?
Can't offer it in the bay area, but i can offer space in oregon state university (which is where the osuosl machines reside). http://osuosl.org/services Why do you need access if you have people willing to handle support tickets and remote console/power control cards? I have yet to see a problem that i could not solve (since the cards can display console, control power to the machine, etc)

Ubuntu: World of Warcraft 3.3.5a OpenGL and Intel GMA issue
ok, I'll get straight to the point: I'm trying to run World of Warcraft (Version 3.3.5 Build 12340) and I have an Intel GMA 4500MHD Integrated chipset, and I can login just fine, but when it tries to render a character, it crashes and spits out an error via the WowError.exe, and if I don't use OpenGL, it can play, but the FPS will spike horribly at random times, and all player

(no subject)
I am trying to get away from courier imap because it is flaky the way it uses FAM (or gamin in my case), and the developers seem to have a chip on their collective shoulder, and it is too complex. I found dovecot because it is ships with CentOS 4 (ie Red Hat Enterprise 4). It looks like just what I need: simple, fast. But I can't use it! I can't authenticate. If any of these statements

Donating
I've never really liked all these donation buttons in web pages, or receiving donations at all, but as some extra money could make my life easier in the next few months, I thought I'd give it a try. http://dovecot.org/donate.html (And if you're wondering how I could still promise those 1000 euros for a security hole, I've a credit card but I'd rather not use it :) Also

CentOS 5 is done, now it's time to donate!
CentOS 5 is great! Job well done! Please *consider* making a donation to the project, if you can, to reward the developers and keep them motivated. That way we can be assured of getting CentOS 6! I used the "Donate Now" link on the CentOS home page -- it was really easy! -Jim
